That's the thing I dislike the most about Judaism, the idea that you're born Jewish, instead of taught to be Jewish. In Catholicism babies are born without religion and are then baptized to wash away the sins of their ancestors. As they grow older they are taught the various aspects of the Catholic faith, and this is the responsibility of the parents, godparents, teachers, and the community as a whole. At a certain age they become confirmed as Catholics when they are old enough to make the decision about what they believe. Those who don't believe as teenagers but later come to believe are welcomed back through things like the Returning Catholic Program, while those who did not recieve a Catholic education as children enter the New Catholic Program. My Church has 2 Phillipino, 1 Anglo-Irish, 1 Indonesian Priest. The congregation consists of every race and every walk of life. It makes every effort to be inclusive of those people who have been marginalized. The poor, the mentally ill, LGBTQIA+, the addicted, all of it. It is a loving, caring and inclusive place and it puts effort into that. Not as a trade or compromise, but because it's right and just.

The point of conversion wouldn't be just for yourself, see you wouldn't be a good Jew, it's about the tribe, you don't convert just so you can be chosen by god and get Jewish pussy, that would be selfish, which is why it is disincentivized by making converts slightly lower in rank, you're converting so that when your children are born of a Jewish mother, they are now full jews, and your line is safe, and protected, by a very strong people with strong community.
