Guys I think i might be retarded. I am using a formula to calculate percentages but its not working. (8 * 25) / 100 8*25=25+25+25+25+25+25+25+25=200 200/100=2 8 is not 2 percent out of 25. What am I doing wrong here?

idk lul i always used divisions of 10 for percentages 25 = 100% 2.5 = 10% 0.25 = 1% 0.25 * 2 = 0.5 = 2% im really not sure where youre getting the 8 from in the formula but just to cover my bases 0.25 * 8 = 2 = 8%

I found out my mistake. The formula is for calculating what 8% of 25 is. Not what % 8/25 is. I might be stupid.

You idiot, percentages aren't additive, they're multiplicative! So it would be (1 + 0.25)^8 = 5.960464%
