Can anyone help me find this video series? It's an educational series of short videos about various aspects of Japanese society and culture. The only one that I'm able to find now is the one about Kabuki theatre, but there were others about sumi-e ink, Japanese food and other things. The series was presented by two men, a Japanese man named Hiro and an English man named Stewart. The Kabuki theatre video is here: https://inv.nadeko.net/watch?v=hALJT_zRzOg
Nevermind, I found it. It's a series from NHK called Begin Japanology. It's available on archive.org here: https://archive.org/details/japanology/Begin+Japanology/Begin+Japanology/ I think the opening and closing segments with the man named Hiro were only included in the television broadcasts.
>>541805 Was there no video on Nōh theatre? I remember reading that Mishima was a big Nōh enthusiast and influenced by it, so it would be nice to see a video covering that also since they are covering other forms of Japanese theatre.
>>541870 I seem to remember there being a Noh theatre one as well, but maybe I was just misremembering the Kabuki episode.
