Iranian Revolution: 2026 Edition Anonymous No. 544655
Javid Shah Here's what you need to know to catch you up to speed: https://archive.ph/rnbOm >Widespread, anti-regime protests have been roiling Iran for nearly a week now. Not that you would necessarily know this given the scant attention they have received in the Western media and the broader ‘progressive’ ecosystem. In fact, it’s only now that US president Donald Trump has threatened to intervene in Iran, in some as-yet-unspecified way, that the protests are now gaining some front-page exposure. >... >Six months on from Iran’s humiliating 12-day war with Israel, which blew a hole through its defences, set back its nuclear programme and dealt a severe blow to Iran’s governing theocrats, an already restive Iranian population is now taking to the streets in protest against its rulers. >This week’s protests were sparked off on Sunday, when a large number of Tehran’s shopkeepers, outraged over the effective collapse of the Iranian currency, pulled down the shutters and promptly stopped selling electronic goods, including mobile phones. This financial cry for help touched an already exposed nerve among broad sections of a long-suffering Iranian populace. In the hours and days since, other shop owners have also shut up their premises and protesters have taken to the streets. The demonstrations quickly spread to Tehran’s historic Grand Bazaar before engulfing other towns and cities around Iran. In response, the Islamic Republic’s security forces have begun to move in, bullets and tear gas at the ready. So far at least seven people are known to have died. Here's the latest news being posted at: >>>/pol/45125 >🚨 BREAKING NEWS – TEHRAN | GRAND BAZAAR >Crowds in Tehran’s Grand Bazaar are being heard chanting: >“This is the final battle, Pahlavi will return.” https://archive.ph/rTWrU >The Iranian people know who they reject, with chants of: >“Death to the three corrupt ones: mullahs, leftists, Mujahed (MEK).” https://archive.ph/x9Uv4 >Translation: This is not the last battle >Pahlavi is coming back >#Javidshah https://archive.ph/ZzPSs >‼️BREAKING FROM IRAN‼️ >POLICE DEFECT from the terrorist Islamic Republic and side with the Iranian People! >Reports are coming in that police in Abdanan, Ilam have now sided with the people AGAINST the terrorist Islamic Republic! https://archive.ph/CLLqP >Reza Pahlavi >Translation: I am sharing my first call with you today and I invite you to start chanting slogans this Thursday and Friday, January 18 and 19, simultaneously at 8 pm, all of you, whether in the streets or even from your own homes. As a result of the feedback from this movement, I will announce the next calls to you. https://archive.ph/NcnxL >Iranian protester says "Help!", holds a sign that reads “Trump a symbol of peace. Don't care. Maybe I would care if the Arab world rallied around Iran but they still lost to Israel and the US, but the Arab/Muslims all ignored Palestine and Iran and just lets the jews walk all over them. And I'm supposed to still care as a White man? Nah. If their own people won't even help them then the Muslims are out of my thoughts. Watching babies get blown up in Palestine for 2 years and watching Israel win yet another middle eastern conflict was upsetting but this is not a fight I'll take on their behalf.

The flags were painted on the ground so that those walking along the route would thereby insult both countries - which Iran considers staunch enemies.

Also remember that the only good Communist is a dead Communist >One of the most disturbing and under talked about stories right now in the United States is the fact that People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI), also known as Mojahedin-e-Khalq (MEK) >MEK is passing out money to GOP operatives and lobbyists to influence the outcome of the Iranian people led regime change in Iran. >MEK is being pushed as an alternative to the Islamic regime in Iran, when in reality they are the same thing, dressed up in colorful clothing. MEK was responsible for the death of U.S. military officers and contractors in Iran between 1973 and 1976. >MEK is a terrorist, Marxist and Islamist cult that is rejected inside Iran. It is critical to note they murdered American soldiers, celebrated the 9/11 Islamic terrorist attacks on New York City, and are longtime allies of the PLO Islamic terrorist organization, among having involvement in other atrocities. >Until a decade ago, MEK was designated as a terrorist group in the US and Canada. Their terror designation was removed by Hillary Clinton @HillaryClinton under the Presidency of Barack Hussein Obama @BarackObama, who enabled and funded the Iranian regime, paving the way for the disastrous Iran Nuclear Deal. On May 8, 2018, President Donald Trump announced the United States' withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), otherwise known as the Iran nuclear deal. Obama’s policies on Iran resulting in the rise of Iranian backed Islamic terror, and the death of many US soldiers. >I’ll be reporting on this more. If you are a conservative or GOP lobbyist and you are taking money to promote Islamic terrorism and further the oppression of the Iranian people, I am going to expose you and publicly humiliate you. I will also report you to the @StateDept and @FBI. >If you have information about any GOP officials who are taking money from MEK to spread their terrorist propaganda, please contact the Loomered Tip Line. https://archive.ph/MsOc7 >Everyone should know that MEK, which rebranded as National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) due to their terrorist designation, is soliciting services and help from Trump haters and rabid Neo-cons John Bolton @AmbJohnBolton, Mike Pence @Mike_Pence and former CIA Director Mike Pompeo @SecPompeo. >Mike Pence has received over $430,000 from 3 groups associated with MEK. @NCRIUS >Why are Mike Pence, Mike Pompeo and John Bolton cheerleading a Marxist-Islamist cult that will only replace the current regime with another hostile Islamic regime? >This explains Pompeo’s bizarre tweet about Israel the other day in which he dismissed the organic regime change in Iran by the Iranian people and instead suggested Mossad was responsible for the protests. >Wait till President Trump finds out how the people he can’t stand are meddling in US-Iran relations as the Iranian regime is falling thanks to his geopolitical genius in destabilizing Iranian and Hezbollah funding sources by cutting off their funding from illicit and sanctioned Venezuelan oil. >I doubt President Trump will be happy to hear about this. @A_Jafarzadeh >It doesn’t seem like Mike Pence, Mike Pompeo and John Bolton want President Trump’s geopolitical synchronicity to work out. @SecRubio @POTUS @netanyahu @PahlaviReza https://archive.ph/r2MRe

Here are my 15 key observations from Day 12 of nationwide protests [January 8]: >1️⃣ The largest anti-regime protests of the Islamic Republic’s 47-year history unfolded on Day 12. When aggregated nationwide, turnout reached multi-million levels. >2️⃣ Since the unrest began, protests have been reported in at least 111 cities across all 31 provinces, underscoring the truly national scope of the uprising. >3️⃣ Today’s protests followed the first-ever direct call by Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi, scheduled for 8:00 p.m. The response was widespread and visible across major cities. >4️⃣ Another nationwide call has already been issued for tomorrow at 8:00 p.m. Observers say the movement still has room to grow. >5️⃣ Analysts argue that the success of today’s call and dominant street slogans have effectively solidified Reza Pahlavi’s position as the central figure of the protests. >6️⃣ One of tonight’s largest demonstrations took place in Mashhad, Khamenei’s hometown and a city tightly controlled by his inner circle—a major symbolic blow. >7️⃣ In Tehran, protests expanded into more affluent neighborhoods like Vanak for the first time. Drivers joined in with continuous honking, while bazaar merchants went on strike in around 50 cities nationwide. >8️⃣ Student protests have erupted at 36 universities so far, with openly anti-regime slogans—an important escalation across generations. >9️⃣ Iranian human rights groups report at least 45 protesters killed, including 8 children, and hundreds injured. Yesterday alone saw 13 deaths, making it one of the bloodiest days so far. >🔟 Calls are growing—by both Iranian and non-Iranian activists—for world leaders to engage directly with Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi, including renewed attention to a potential meeting with Donald Trump and the provision of resources to help him better lead the uprising. >11. Trump, in a recent interview, reiterated warnings to the regime and said of Pahlavi: “I’ve watched him, he seems like a nice person—but I’m not sure this is the right moment, as president, to do something like that.” >12. State media, while forced to acknowledge unrest, are pushing a narrative of “small crowds” and emphasizing alleged attacks on security forces—a pattern analysts warn may signal preparation for harsher repression. >13. Meanwhile, rare pro-regime gatherings were staged, alongside headlines declaring “the defeat of counter-revolutionaries”—widely seen as damage control. >14. Social media (Instagram) ahead of protests showed unprecedented public coordination and solidarity: shop closures announced in advance, emotional farewell messages, and strong virtual participation even from those unable to attend. >15. Outlook: Protests are expected to continue in the coming days—especially tomorrow. The movement’s success will hinge on the public’s ability to neutralize the Islamic Republic’s repressive apparatus. So far, the regime appears not to have deployed its full coercive capacity, relying instead on mass arrests and widespread injuries. If protests advance to the point of overrunning security and state institutions, the regime may resort to large-scale lethal violence. The role of Israel and the United States is crucial to the success of the protests. So far, there are no clear signs that the regime’s repressive apparatus is cracking. https://archive.ph/tmm3n >BBC Persian has confirmed footage from Isfahan showing a building connected to the state-run Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting agency (IRIB) on fire. >t.me/bbcpersian/268550 https://archive.ph/EDYY2 >Looks like many flights out of Istanbul couldn’t land in Iran and had to return back to Turkey tonight >Via @Faytuks
[Expand Post]https://archive.ph/WFXfb >🚨Iran, China, and the Belt and Road Initiative >Iran is an integral component of the China-Central Asia-West Asia Economic Corridor (CCWAEC) under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) of the Chinese Communist Party. This corridor serves to connect East Asia with the Middle East, Persian Gulf, and Mediterranean via Central Asia, featuring key projects such as the China-Iran railway, which is vital for circumventing maritime routes and enhancing trade. >Iran's role in the expansive CCWAEC enables significant overland routes, including rail and road, that connect China to Europe and the Gulf. >The Xi'an-Tehran rail line is a flagship project, aiming to cut delivery times from weeks to days, reducing reliance on maritime routes like the Strait of Hormuz. >Iran's involvement in these corridors allows it to become a major transit hub, potentially circumventing sanctions and expanding regional influence, which is a concern for the US and Israel. >After the fall of the American-backed Shah of Iran in 1979, both Russia and China have employed Iran as a means to instigate tension in the region, particularly through their confrontations with Israel, to challenge U.S. interests in the Middle East. >If the Islamic Republic of Iran were to collapse, the long-term strategies of both China and Russia for achieving dominance in economic, digital, military, and political arenas would be severely impacted. https://archive.ph/99fYU >🔥#BREAKING: Reports emerging from Iran indicate that in Fars Province, protesters have overrun and taken control of an IRGC facility. https://archive.ph/uEzJ5 >Reza Pahlavi >@PahlaviReza <Millions of Iranians demanded their freedom tonight. It is time for others, including European leaders, to follow his lead, break their silence, and act more decisively in support of the people of Iran. <I call on them to use all technical, financial, and diplomatic resources available to restore communication to the Iranian people so that their voice and their will can be heard and seen. We all know this only happens when the regime wants to massacre the people in the streets. Mr. President, this occurred once before in November 2019, resulting in the slaughter of over 8,000 people in just three days. Don't let the Islamic Republic commit another massacre. >@realDonaldTrump @POTUS https://archive.ph/6239K >Hannity: "If there is mass murder by the Iranian ayatollahs and those in leadership, you are pledging to the people of Iran that you will come to their aid?" <Trump: "I have said it very loud and very clear, that's what I'm going to do." >Hannity: "I have this hat, I guess you were playing golf with Lindsey Graham?" <Trump: "Ya, I did that for Lindsey Graham." >Hannity: "It says 'Make Iran Great Again.'" https://archive.ph/e5DaW

Fascinating (and new to me) 1979 NYT article on Ayatollah Khomeini, who is apparently: >(1) an honest man, (2) surrounded by moderates concerned w/ human rights, (3) one who will leave his internal enemies (Jews, atheists, leftists) free to express themselves, & (4) overall a beacon of hope for the region's future. >(File under: 100% wrong wishful-thinking predictions.) https://archive.ph/HWXRc The IRGC has started massacring protestors and civilians, amount dead unknown due to communications blackout >🚨 URGENT – FARDIS, KARAJ | IRAN >Bodies are visible on the ground. >Video circulating from Fardis (Karaj) shows lifeless bodies lying in the streets after security forces opened fire on civilian crowds following the nationwide internet blackout. >A voice in the footage states that ten people have been killed. >Gunfire can be heard in residential areas. >The blackout has severely restricted communications, making it harder for families to seek help, document events, or confirm the full scale of casualties. >This is lethal force used against civilians in the middle of a communications shutdown. >The scale and speed of the violence mark a grave escalation in the crackdown. >@GBNEWS >@realDonaldTrump @marcorubio https://archive.ph/KoTqZ >It’s 6AM in Iran right now. >The internet is shut down. >Phone lines are cut. >Flights are canceled. >The regime has likely spent the night escalating its crackdown, using darkness as cover for extreme violence. >Support the people of Iran. https://archive.ph/WSIym >Reports coming out of Iran amid a total nationwide blackout: the regime has even cut telephone lines. Only a tiny number of people still have access to Starlink. >" They’re heavily jamming Starlink signals, and Starlink’s speed has dropped to dial-up levels. Some friends were given VPNs on this connection, but unfortunately none of them worked. Why? Because even the domestic internet is down. They’ve completely shut the valve. Internet services are entirely suspended, and the continuation of this status quo can destroy the regime itself. " https://archive.ph/FI92b
