I can't really empathize with or subscribe to the idea that the 00s was the best of anything at all. I remember already thinking back then that all the current shows, movies, games etc. were shit. Some of the best music is from that era though, but only if you're into indie electronic type of stuff. You could already see the internet turn into shit in real time after it was so promising in the 90s. Facebook is from 00s for crying out loud. Art shifted from something made with real materials into photoshopped slop and 3D CG. Smartphones were taking over and it was when games became corporate and soulless.

I think I'm really going to commit to going back. For years I've been trying to figure out what's causing my depression. At first I wanted to deny it was depression at all and write it off as boredom, but I was just bored of everything. Everything until I had a small glimpse of 2000s memories. It's comforting beyond belief thinking about that time. That's when I had the realization that I can actually reject everything there is now and go back. This may cure my depression, it may not.
