Played it a bit more, and I think I'm done with the game for now outside of friends badgering me into playing it. Don't feel like there's any more armor I want to farm for, made some cool outfits, Heavy Bowgun disappoints me compared to Rise HBG since no crouching fire or charged fire, the game feels like dead air due to the lack of challenge, and NOBODY TALKS ANYMORE. The game feels like a wasteland with barely any interaction, I miss gathering hubs. I miss teaming up with randoms for a couple of hunts and having some banter. Why are people so cold-shouldered here? I don't even remember World being this quiet.
I did finally see a quest fail though. Some rando couldn't dodge Rey Dau's giga-cannon worth a shit and ate it every single time. Wonder why he was there as a gunner though.
<Granblue Fantasy VS: Rising
Got some more matches in as Anila, ranked focus this time. Had a really funny match against a very strange Beatrix player. Made it to A4 off of that, plus a few other matches, and called it a day. Here's the replay of one of those matches. My play ain't the best either but this guy was... quite funny really. There's a common trend of poorer players over-relying on brave counter rather than dealing with blockstrings at all. Even fought S-rank players with my other main who do it too.
Sorry for vid quality being so ass but 32MB limit and I suck at encoding shit.
<Dragon's Dogma
Got to post-dragon in hard mode, decided to do BBI round 1 first. If it ends up being too hard I'll turn tail out and just finish out the run. How hard can hard everfall be? Probably harder than BBI round 1 or maybe even 2 considering the wack scaling the base game content gets with hard mode.

Frieren. I continue to be surprised at the quality of this show. Even what appear to be filler episodes at a glance end up having a ton of value to them and have multiple plot threads being created and solved. Sein is also a great addition to the team and I hope he sticks around for the rest of the season. Though him going off on his personal Onee-san quest or going his own way to seek out his old friend after learning a ton would be a fine end to his arc. Wonder if there's some cosmic rule about the shittiest priests needing the goddess' guidance the most and thus incurring her favor, lol. Really liked the episode about the jeweler and that little village leading to ||Frieren finally realizing Himmel proposed to and committed himself to her all those years ago, dense autist she is.||
Think I'm at the halfway point now, as the last episode I was watching (the one with Stark being hired to impersonate a Noble) ended without the traditional ending theme and had a longer credits sequence.
I do think this show is worthy of being listed with the "greats". The more I watch it the more it manages to prove this time and time again.

Went out with family to Chili's and had some mediocre steak and some beef skillet queso dip with chips. I like that chain's skillet queso but everything else about it is very mediocre since I don't touch alcohol due to family history of severe alcohol troubles.

Pretty good. Really needed that vacation and now I feel massively refreshed even a week out. Back to nightshift though. HOPEFULLY I can get a good dayshift job once I get this tech cert and be done with this.

>I want to get back into Japanese study tonight (ie, probably a JRPG) but I can never choose from the enormous list of gen 5/6 classics I never played...
You could try some of the Tales of Games. Those are pretty good JRPGs. Sixth gen would include some of the widely considered good titles in the series like Tales of the Abyss (ps2), Tales of Symphonia(GC), and Tales of Destiny Director's Cut(PS2). Tales of Legendia(PS2) is also there and it's alright.
