Nintendo Direct (Direct DS?) Thread Anonymous 03/26/2025 (Wed) 14:27:11 Id: cea7b1 No. 1082826 >>1082850 >>1082902 >>1083190
This is an interesting situation, apparently Nintendo is having two Nintendo Directs back to back. One tomorrow at 10am EST and another on April 2nd at 9am EST. Figured we should have a single thread for both considering how close they are together. I've seen some rumors about a new Project X Zone 3 with Nintendo characters this time around and Custom Robo game, so I'm hoping it's not bullshit, either way we'll see in due time. What are you hoping to see from the show? FIRST SHOW IS DONE Link for the Nintendo Direct: https://www.youtube.com/live/9OqoRxXUjGA?si=G7ptylSeCxuFjqq7 Link to the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct: TBA
Edited last time by Mark on 03/27/2025 (Thu) 14:37:28.
I just want a release date for metroid prime 4, if that is even gonna still release on the switch at this point.
>>1082828 The same leakers who predicted this Direct last week have said Prime 4 won't be present.
I can't wait to see how easily the Switch 2 can be hacked. I would laugh if there was a Day-One exploit.
>>1082829 In the Switch 2 direct, maybe the direct tomorrow?
>>1082832 The Direct tomorrow, no word on whether Prime 4 will be at the April Direct.
>>1082826 (OP) I want games nigger and if the damn thing will be able to run CFW from the get go
why focus on Switch 1 games? wouldn't they all be compatible with Switch 2 anyway?
New fire embremmu??
>>1082851 I suspect they'll be crossplat games for 2025 this time and the Switch 2 will all be trying to make the system itself look good+exclusives.
>>1082853 According to Jeb! Grubhub they've been sitting on a remake, so it's possible.
>>1082853 An FE4 remake was leaked by the Engage leaker (which people doubted was real because it looked like Engage). I can't see NoA not molesting that game to death.
(164.97 KB 640x582 ECH.jpg)

>>1082826 (OP) >>1082851 This is probably the Switch 1's last hurrah before Nintendo shifts their focus hard to Switch 2. There's always going to be people who will hold off on getting the Switch 2 and keeping their first Switch until there's decently-sized library of exclusives that's worth getting. Hopefully there will be something worth remembering, but I expect the real meat of games Nintendo's going to announce is saved for the Switch 2 stream. >I've seen some rumors about a new Project X Zone 3 with Nintendo characters this time around and Custom Robo game I doubt we'll see a new Custom Robo game, PXZ3 on the other hand seems more likely, despite the series being dormant for nearly a decade. Hope that's real. >>1082853 >>1082867 We'll probably see the FE4 remake either here or the Switch 2 stream.
>>1082851 Essentially to give room for the April direct to focus on the Switch 2 and its launch/first-year titles I also expect as usual Japanese third-parties for the stream tomorrow, whatever comes out since I practically play everything on the console these days. Things like the Yakuza Kiwami 1 port reveal last year was a nice surprise.
>>1082831 Why would it be easy to hack?
>>1082955 Probably because every switch 2 can be hacked with a $50-100 modchip, just that a v1 switch is less work if IPS isn't a dealbreaker.
>>1083008 >modchip Well, count me out.
>>1082831 I'm about to exploit Marina's tits with my dick. >>1082955 Nintendo copying a lot of the architecture from Switch 1, I'm pretty sure something similar happened with Wii > Wii U or Gamecube > Wii. Plus most of the console hacking scene focuses on Nintendo exclusively, they're two or three generations ahead of Sony and Microsoft on PC emulators for a reason.
>>1082955 Nintendo consoles have a history of being easy to mod. Switch was already based on well understood architecture, and it seems like 2 will be an interaction of that.
>>1082826 (OP) 45 MINUTES ARE YOU READY?
>>1083008 >modchip You say that as if that's accessible. Just seek out a v1 on eBay.
>>1083200 Are you ready for disappointment?
>>1083201 Lemme guess, scalped to hell and back since the year I last checked? They were roughly $100 if you're willing to get just the tablet.
>>1083202 I was actually talking about the Direct.

>new Etrian Odyssey this time, for sure!
>>1083206 The most important question is if they are going to allow tomboys to exist in these ones. No more tomboy erasure.
>>1083209 Check the year. You know the answer as well as I do.
OH SHIT RATIO

>>1083218 They’re showing games in a different order? Is that what usually happens?
>>1083219 Sometimes, yeah
>>1083219 The japanese have no sense of build up.
Psychic Samus.
Looks like they didn't add a whole lot of interesting mechanics to beyond.
Prime 4 looked cool, Samus is so awesome

>Gradius collection with new game This is something M2 would do, I wonder if it's actually them since their plate is so full
>>1083226 Yeah she is, the suit at the end looked pretty cool too. Maybe the game will seem more exciting as we learn more about it. >>1083231 Please do, draw her as the new Hex too

>>1083232 YYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
So that’s why they’re having two Directs so close to one another. While a few of these reveals are long awaited/anticipated, Nintendo probably wanted to talk quickly about a few games and other things they are releasing this year so they can get them out of the way and dedicate a whole Direct to the Switch 2. >>1083256 That’s pretty much all it will be good for
>>1083260 Wish we got something else than wtich and mercury, so many better series
(105.86 KB 635x1024 GmN2ILjbMAAlO7c.jpg)

I think this direct was pretty good overall, some great promising new games are coming like Prime 4 along with some neat ports. I'm excited for the Gradius Collection just for M2's new game, the new port of Saga Frontier 2 also looks nice and I definitely want to check out Everyone's Golf. I don't really care for capeshit but the Marvel beat'em up looks fun as hell, it's being done by the devs that made the new TMNT game.

Japanese Raido gameplay >replaced prerendered BGs with sterile 3D >combat is completely different Why are they calling this a remaster? For better or worse it's a full on remake. >>1083232 >explicitly only season 1 of Witch from Mercury How much development hell has this been in?!
>>1083275 Why did they make Nova a woman with long hair?
>>1083279 Paired with that UI they should just release for mobile already,so fucking bad.
>Rhythm Tengoku Miracle Stars >Metroid Prime 4 Echoes >SMT Raidou Remastered >Patapon 1+2 Replay I'm not feeling with SRW Y as it looks like a carbon copy of 30 which was my one purchase regret of this decade (considering I've bought the Deluxe edition on Switch). Also the "virtual card" feature looks cool and useful as it means I can lend over my numerous digital games to family members and friends (for a period of 14 days)
>>1083279 Also >Sleth difficulty with invinicble MC and no game over I fucking despise this stuff
>>1083251 >>1083310 >Sony just goes full third party Heh.
>>1083315 Worth to point out both franchises are handled by Bandai Namco as the publisher, just like Freedom Wars Remastered. I guess Gravity Rush 1+2 and Soul Sacrifice Delta wouldn't be too much of a pipe dream after all even if it's gonna take some time. inb4 Bloodborne on Switch 2
>>1083315 Ya love to see it.
>>1083331 Can you link where this is explained in detail?
>>1083331 Why even bother with this process?
>>1083331 >I guarantee you save data is not going to transferred either without a NSO subscription. Let me get this straight. You need to be subscribed to the Nintendo Switch Online in order to get the save data from a specific game that came from a Virtual Game Card?
Best Buy has started sending out emails saying that Switch 2 preorders will open on April 2, shortly after the Direct finishes. Also, are we gonna be reusing this thread for the Switch 2 Direct next week? Stuff here tends to not fall off the board.
>>1083355 It's in the OP. >Figured we should have a single thread for both considering how close they are together.
>>1083262 They've barely shown any series, we'll have to wait and see what they showcase.
First capeshit thing I've taken an interest in since Bane: The Movie

>>1083338 >>1083348 There is an full explanation from the website itself https://www.nintendo.com/us/gaming-systems/virtual-game-cards/ >If you have two different systems linked to the same Nintendo Account**, you can choose which system to play it on—just like with a physical game card. Simply eject the virtual game card from one system and load it onto the other. >Once a virtual game card is loaded to a system***, not only can you play it without an internet connection, but other user accounts on the system can play, too. >You can also manage and load virtual game cards via your Nintendo Account on the Nintendo website. >**Compatible systems must be linked to a Nintendo Account to use virtual game cards. Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive games and Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games can only be loaded on a Nintendo Switch 2 system. To move virtual game cards between two systems, you must pair the systems via local wireless and an internet connection, but only when pairing the systems for the first time. Up to two systems total can be linked per Nintendo Account. >*** An internet connection is required the first time you start a game that you have loaded to your system. An internet connection is also required each time a loaded title is ejected. >You can also lend out virtual game cards to your Nintendo Account family group members. Just connect to your family group member’s system via local wireless when you want to lend a game. Both systems must also be connected to the internet. >You can lend one game per account for 14 days (unless the borrower returns it earlier). >After the game is returned the borrower will still have their save data, so they'll be able to start where they left off if they borrow again or purchase the game. I don't exactly get f0cedc anon finding any outrage over the fact the feature requires an Internet connection in downloading the game on the other system. The sole drawback imo is that it shouldn't require an Internet checkup anytime you want to swap a virtual card to another. Also save data only requires NSO when you want to backup in the cloud, transferring save data from one system to another can be done wirelessly. >>1083387 I liked TMNT and Streets of Rage 4 from the same DotEmu so it might be worth checking out too.
>>1083401 DotEmu is just the publisher and Streets of Rage 4 was made by Lizardcube. TMNT and this are made by the leafs at Tribute Games, same ex Ubisoft developers that worked on Scott Pilgrim The Game.
>>1083401 >I don't exactly get f0cedc anon finding any outrage over Because the execution reads almost exactly like how M$ described how people could buy and play games on the Xbone back when the system was announced in 2013. And was a concept that received such scathing ridicule that it tanked the launch, with even Snowy taking the piss on it at E3 with their "How to transfer games" video.
>>1083406 I just see this feature as an alternative over lending physical cartridges (something that won't go away anytime soon). Or for people like me who bought mainly digital to temporarily share the stuff to others, which could be nice to gauge the interest of my younger family members in certain games before eventually gifting them the actual title.
>>1083406 And now people lap it up like candy. Times sure have changed for the worse, haven't they?
>>1083409 >I can pirate a 100GB game in an hour and keep in my HDD >I can still buy DRM free games and burn them to a disk Nah, I'm having fun
>>1083406 I thought they were attempting to lock physical games to the console so you couldn't resell them or give them away.
So, predictions for April 2 now that Metroid Prime 4 has been shown?
>>1083437 That's what the M$ shit was yes, banning being able to sell or even lend your game temporarily to a friend.
>>1083440 Prime 2 was never going to be a huge announcement at April 2nd since they already announced that game. We're gonna see a bunch of 1st party titles and some 3rd party ones. It's really anyone's guess. A 3D Mario is a safe bet considering how long it's been since one. I think a new FE is also quite possible. Other than that things are pretty much "take a guess and you have at least a chance of it happening." New Kirby? Maybe. DK? Could happen. Star Fox? Sure.

>>1083467 I probably conflated it with Switch 2 in my head.
https://archive.ph/NidPa >Switch 2 Edition games
>>1083659 This was already mentioned in >>1083401 but I guess proper reading comprehension is a rare skill unfortunately And I'm sure it essentially means crossgen titles, in a similar fashion of how many Japanese games are (still) sharing a PS4 &¨PS5 versions including the ability to play the PS4 version on a PS5 (but not the reverse way obviously).
>>1083242 I miss when Pokémon.

Should we make a bingo card for the direct?
Anyone expecting announcements on Switch 2 enhancements for Switch 1 games? HDR for Prime 4?
>>1084282 I've seen a few others around, but it's hard to guess what will actually be shown. I keep seeing people say Hollow Knight 2? I have no idea why, I'm pretty sure Hollow Knight was a Microsoft supported project, I remember Silksong was shown at an Xbox show originally.
>>1084282 That would be fun, especially since this is a pretty significant Direct, with the Switch 2 being shown off and everything. >>1084359 >I've seen a few others around, but it's hard to guess what will actually be shown. Maybe looking to past Directs about new consoles could provide some answers. If the card can include video game reveals, some squares could easily be taken up by "New Animal Crossing game" or "New Mario Game." Another square could be a special exclusive controller/console design.
I wonder how easy it will be to emulate the switch 2 i hope it's something like GC/Wii was, that the architecture was so similar the same emulator ran both platforms.
>>1084662 It might happen, but it's going to be massively stronger and use mesh shaders and RT cores, so it might be a rude awakening not only in terms of how difficult it is to emulate at all, but how it performs.
