Hey /gamergatehq/! If you want to file complaints about it, here're instructions on how to do so: https://www.red*dit.com/r/KotakuInAction/comments/63bvdc/file_complaints_with_the_crtc_about_cbcs_latest/ Also, for those interested in the current status of my complaints: The CRTC closed my original complaint in December 2015 and found the CBC not guilty of any violations, but immediately opened a new complaint on our behalf asking the CBC to respond/justify every hit piece they done on us until that date. I also filed a complaint in December 2016 on CBC Report 14. At present, the CBC Ombudsman is basically stonewalling the Canadian government's complaint process by not only failing to respond to both of the aforementioned requests but not even acknowledging that they received the complaints at all. So GamerGate's in completely uncharted territory here, as this appears to be either an unprecedented occurrence or so exceedingly rare that the procedure for moving forward isn't immediately apparent. In the hopes of breaking this holding pattern, I've essentially "threatened" the CBC Ombudsman with an ultimatum: either you relinquish your right of response (which they can do) or I start contacting the CRTC, my local Member of Parliament, and the Canadian Heritage Minister and get them involved. I'll keep you guys updated on how this drama unfolds.
Thanks for your excellent work. > or I start contacting the CRTC, my local Member of Parliament, and the Canadian Heritage Minister and get them involved. You probably should have done this already, and you will need to package it with the most basic intro to Gamergate because this info is getting hard to find and fake info is all over the place. Also look for a public interest group with an attorney willing to review the legality of the stonewalling. It may have to be a conservative group just because of the politics involved.
>>330521 Thanks for the kind words. I would have talked to other Canadian government officials already, but it's important to go by the book so you can show people how broken the system is without leaving any room for doubt.
History is always nice to see.
Thanks, Anon, this will come in handy since I regularly update and add to the GG wiki.
>At present, the CBC Ombudsman is basically stonewalling the Canadian government's complaint process by not only failing to respond to both of the aforementioned requests but not even acknowledging that they received the complaints at all. Ezra Levant may be interested. Of course I tried pitching Sun News on GG and other things at the time and they ignored it. Very interesting. Suspect that this DIGRA stuff is linked in with it and they have other interests they want to protect. t. the guy scoping Silverstring Media through the BC government
>>330565 No problem! Maybe we can add information about how to file complaints as well somewhere. >>330582 Any suggestions on contacting him? Should I try Twitter? Also, I called the CRTC this week. They're going to get back to me after discussing how to proceed. As I said previously, this kind of situation is rare, if not completely unprecedented.
