What is in your opinion the best Anime or any other story be Manga or Light Novels (not video games) with the best combination of art style, setting, and tone. Tone here represent who the story was told. Like some stories are very realistic even if it is fantasy like in Legend of Galactic Heroes and some stories are over the top even though they suppose to something simple like sports stories exaggerating the moves of the player. It also include stories where either the tone is serious from start to bottom like in Texhnolyze or light hearted like in Trigun even though both have bloodshed and humanity struggling to survive.

HunterXHunter 1999 was also superior to the 2011 remake due the fact it was not shifting from light hearted to dark on the fly. It was more consistent in it's tone that it fit for both a light hearted adventure and a dark story as well.

Shinsekai Yori. The plot in incredible broad and with deep themes but it doesn't forces them in the watcher or expand in something complex, all the symbolism is self-defined and the characters interact with them but they're simple and explained. It's the kind of plot consistence only possible in a novel/not quarterly LN. The adaptation itself is excellent, in tune with the story, both visuals and music (most BGM is just for ambiance and not remarkable). Curiously the manga adaptation is published as shounen, I don't know if it conveys the same but Shinsekai doesn't need a convoluted plot. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

It's surprisingly good though the pacing is a tad odd. The premier felt like a flashback instead of a proper prologue juxtaposed against the Natsu intro ep. Did they rearrange stuff? Reminds me of Sengoku Youko oddly enough with the setup. Also, the PLAN is clearly to make MC megaman his way into all the demon powers and getting him to spread his seed through the ages isn't it?

How does the Turn A Gundam Correct Century work? Spoilers for the show but it's plot centers around the mystery of the Dark History. An era before the current time which in the show's setting is a Victorian era level of tech society with planes & blimps. This Dark History is hinted at & outright said to be essentially the history of at least 4 previous Gundam timelines. From my understanding, each timeline is supposed to be a different universe. So how does this work? Because I can't find a straight answer no matter where I look. Is it: >A: Each Gundam timeline referenced here were actually part of the same universe all along. >B: Each timeline was separate but something converged them into one.
