It makes Asa's literal role in the entire story "falling in love with Denji", which is incredibly non-specific to any trait of hers besides being a lonely teenager, it also makes Asa just an accessory to both Denji and Yoru's characters. I'm still holding out to the possibility that there is something else about Asa that made Death choose her in specific, that'll come into light when we learn of her past, especially since Death seemingly deliberately avoided turning Asa into a pawn. It actually got me thinking of the weaponization dynamic between Yoru and Asa. When Yoru first attempted to weaponize Denji, she did so on the grounds that he fell in love with Asa (even though it was stated previously that her perception is all that matters...the whole sequence is weird), meaning that the "guilt" is shared between them...but that directly contradicts the premise of the arc? the whole idea was to get ASA to weaponize a person so her guilt would make it powerful, but if the guilt is shared between them...why didn't Yoru just go around killing people and turning them into weapons? since Asa would feel guilty about it, thus creating powerful weapons at very little effort. I'm starting to think that Part 2 isn't particularly well written...

One feature of the manga is the frequent reviews published in the Genshiken fanzine, where each character gives their own unique take on whatever the club is currently obsessed with. Not only does this paint a pretty interesting picture of an imaginary piece of media, but it also acts as a method through which club members are further characterized, as their taste and methods of expressing it are reflections of themselves. To me, there's something interesting about misfits trying to express their reason for liking things which are by and large ignored or outright maligned by society, and in doing so slowly gaining confidence, which is eventually leveraged into forming a connection with others. Even if their reviews aren't particularly well-written or profoundly insightful, there's an inherent value because they put so much effort into expressing the interest they hold for the media they are discussing. (and their passion is contagious) Genshiken is not just good, its relevant to imageboard culture because its a place to express feelings that may not be accepted or tolerated elsewhere, and in finding this place each character ultimately learns to truly let loose with their passions, and that's about all I can muster up to say about the merits of Genshiken and effort posting. And obviously the manga would have probably sucked if the characters just made posts online that read as "Just finished Kuji-Un, what did I think about it?"

Give closure to Kenjaku, let Megumi fulfill at least half of his potential by participating in a real fight and showcasing his character development, give Nobara some actual content so that her fakeout death isnt as retarded and pointless, and clean up some of the other shit that was left hanging, like the merger itself which was built up for too long and ended up leading fucking nowhere.

Since these threads are gonna be dead until the new season and the manga's over I just wanted to say.. Nothing will ever quite replicate the sheer autistic hype of being in those oldchan threads during the Gojo vs Sukuna fight or the kusakabe chapter (Still the highest bump limit thread for JJK just check desuarchive) Mediocre ending aside this series had some of the highest weekly highs and lows that I've read in a while and I was glad to enjoy it with everyone.. Shitposters, doomfags and resident menheras included But now Like Riko amanai, I return to eternal sleep
