Alfred was CIA agent Bill Wilson former survivalist trainer while he worked along the MI6 under classified operations.
While Bill was lying unconscious on the plane, Alfred appeared to him in his mind to wake him up. He reclutantly said that it didn't matter. He had failed on his mission and the masked man had overplayed him. He had welcomed death.
But Alfred reminded him on the reason humans fall. It was the only way to learn, to become stronger, wiser. To change. And that no matter how many times you fall, what defined a man was how many times he gets up.
Half consciously, Bill forced himself to woke up. Remembering his training he crawled across the falling fuselage grabbing the seats until he reached the parachutes. After grabbing one he just let himsef go out of the plane. By that moment, the time seemed to stop for him. It was just him and the air flowing around him. He had no thoughts at all. No desires, no fears, no regrets and no shame. He only was. And he could die or he could live but it didn't matter to him. Because that is what life's all about. Playing. And no matter the outcome, you get back up.
After what seemed to be ages, Bill pulled the string releasing a big parachute above him. He contenplated the plane crashing on the nearby mountains. As he was falling, he couldn't help but smile and thank that old wise man for saving not only his life, but also his soul.
