>>175076 Right now it's just the kernel stuff, which means you still need proprietary drivers for gaming and machine learning. This mostly lets datacenters use graphics cards violating open source licensing. But it might still see some performance improvements and inclusion in the Linux kernel natively, which would be nice. And it's hopefully a step forward. The AMD situation is weird. On one hand, AMD drivers work way better than nVidia ones on Linux. On the other, a lot of stuff still targets nVidia because of CUDA and for other reasons, so AMD is still a second-class option. It's what makes gaming on Linux so frustrating: you have two compromise options. At least AMD seems interested in the user experience. nVidia doesn't seem to understand why customers might want open source drivers or a better experience. In their opinion, you should shut up or just use Windows.
(51.83 KB 1500x1500 ROCm.png)

Sims 5 Leaks, Release Date, New Features, Mods & Announcements >The Sims continues to be one of the most popular franchises in all of gaming. While the most recent entry has kept fans busy running their own simulated life for nearly a decade, many fans are still wondering about The Sims 5. In this article, we’ll round up everything we know so far about Sims 5 leaks, release date, new features, mods, and announcements. >Sims 5 Leaks, New Features & Announcements, Release Date As of right now, there has been nothing teased about Sims 5. Its existence is only hinted at in winks and nods, and nothing has been formally announced yet other than then an acknowledgment that the next game is in the early stages of development. >Fake Sims 5 trailers and announcements are very common and until you hear something official from Maxis and EA, you can assume they are all BS. If a real Sims 5 announcement or leak happens we’ll update this post and let you know. >Sims 5 Mods While we don’t know anything about Sims 5 or any of its new features, the safest assumption that you can probably make about Sims 5 is that there will be mod support. >This hasn’t been confirmed at all, obviously, since the game itself hasn’t even been revealed yet, but considering how popular and critical mods are in the community, you can probably bet that Sims 5 will have mods. And if they don’t, well, you can bet that a lot of people will be a lot less excited about the upcoming new game. >That’s all you need to know as of right now about Sims 5 leaks, new features, announcements, and of course mods. If you can’t wait and want to enhance your Sims experience for now, check out our list of the best mods right now. https://archive.ph/mLeat The Sims 4 pronouns update could be launching very soon >Last year, over 20,000 Sims 4 players signed a Change.org petition asking EA to add gender-neutral pronouns to its long-running social simulation series. >And their voices were heard loud and clear. Maxis announced in January that it would be releasing an update allowing you to assign your Sims he/him, she/her, and they/them pronouns, as well as input your own custom ones. >The game's newly released roadmap doesn't give any details on when the pronouns update will be added. But a revamp of the official Sims 4 website in the wake of the recent 'Go Wild' announcement could be hinting that it's on its way very soon. >As reported by Sims Community, Twitter user Mischa spotted that the site's main page was updated to feature a Sim wearing a t-shirt that looks like the Transgender Pride flag. <@Mischaloola This sim is wearing a shirt that looks like the Transgender Pride Flag could this be a hint that the pronouns update is coming this quarter? >The image has now mysteriously vanished, but the wording of the tagline that's now displayed on the Sims 4 website still suggests that the customisable pronouns update might not be far away. >It reads, "Step into the Moonlight and explore who you are after dark!" We'll have to wait for official word from Maxis on when customisable pronouns will be added in the game, but with Pride Month on the way, it's the perfect time to make The Sims 4 a more inclusive experience. https://archive.ph/U7tvn

I believe Rosalina/Rosetta has more of a spotlight because her motherly backstory hit the feels of the people that played Mario Galaxy, while Daisy has a similar role to Peach as far as waiting for Mario/Luigi to rescue her on top of her debut game basically being Super Mario Bros. but with some gimmick levels She was also made by Gunpei Yokoi, so maybe Miyamoto still has a chip on his shoulder against him, who really knows

>>175110 BIG PROTIP 1. Build a NAS using old PC parts. 2. Install NAS software (there are many) and Pi-Hole onto the NAS. 3. Change DNS on your router to run all traffic through Pi-Hole. 4. Ads are blocked by Pi-Hole for anything connected to the router. This includes phones, TVs, game consoles, etc. everything on your router gets ad-blocking via Pi-Hole. Everything. Can also block the telemetry spyware if you have the lists for it. The NAS is useful as fuck on it's own too as you can use it to throw files around various devices and play media from it.

>>175129 It's okay anon, I understand. I have no intention on debating loli here. I just want instances of UN shit and it would be helpful to have more than one to show it as more of a systemic problem that underlines their hypocrisy.
>>175126 >don't they have a huge content ban list? That's Paheal: https://rule34.paheal.net/wiki/DNP Gelbooru forbids full manga/doujin dumps, western art that doesn't have an "anime" aesthetic, most realistic 3DCG loli/shota porn, and toddlercon (this one is banned because pedos kept abusing the tag to share and talk about CP).
>>175131 I had an exploitable router once with that option, but never installed OpenWRT on it. You can run Pi-Hole on OpenWRT? Router hardware is generally so weak it's right on the razor's edge of cooking itself. I never trusted my router to run anything more than the basic bitch shit that was on it and a third party ad-blocking DNS is not quite the same since you don't get as much choice in what you're blocking.
>>175127 That's pretty good, I'll be getting a pihole
>>175131 >possibly locked behind an account. It's not. You can go into settings and disable the extreme content blocker (loli, shota, guro, etc) even with no account. That said gelbooru's biggest issue is that it frequently will delete stuff, especially more lately (like from artists who complain about it being there) so it's not quite the massive repository it used to be. That wouldn't be so bad if 90% of art wasn't contained to twitter these days and thus almost impossible to find unless you just follow a bunch of artists you like and even then you'll miss lots.
>>175131 >They do have loli with a toggle, possibly locked behind an account. No account necessary, thought it appears like you'd need one to change the setting, which is a great deterrent for retards.

>>175134 Honestly I have no idea what a pi-hole is, but it sounds like its just dns filtering from a list, which is what this can do. It can also run your whole router through a vpn, use a usb port for a poor-mans NAS, and maybe mirror ethernet port traffic for wireshark forensics, but I use a network switch for that.

Solid Snake VA David Hayter Says He Will Give Up His Tesla If Elon Musk Reinstates Donald Trump’s Twitter Account >X2: X-Men United writer and Solid Snake VA David Hayter declared he will give up his Tesla if Donald Trump’s Twitter account is reinstated. >Musk gave a keynote address on the Future of the Car to the Financial Times where he was asked if he was planning to let Donald Trump back on Twitter. >The Tesla CEO answered, “Well, I think the general question of should Twitter have permanent bans. And I’ve talked with Jack Dorsey about this and he and I are of the same mind, which is that permanent bans should be extremely rare and really reserved for people where they’re trying to — for accounts that are bots or spam scam accounts, where there’s just no legitimacy at all.” >“I do think that it was not correct to ban Donald Trump. I think that was a mistake because it alienated a large part of the country and did not ultimately result in Donald Trump not having a voice. He’s not going to be on Truth Social as well as a large part of the sort of the right in the United States,” Musk continued. >The billionaire went on, “And so I think this could end up being, frankly, worse than having a single forum where everyone can debate. So I guess the answer is I would reverse the permaban.” >“Also, I don’t own Twitter yet, so this is not like a thing that will definitely happen, because what I don’t own Twitter? But my opinion and Jack Dorsey, I want to be clear, shares this opinion, is that we should not have permabans,” he explained. >Now, that doesn’t mean that somebody gets to say whatever they want to say,” Musk detailed. “If they say something that is illegal or otherwise destructive to the world then there should be a passive timeout, a temporary suspension, or that particular tweet should be made invisible, or very limited traction.” >“But I think permabans just fundamentally undermine trust in Twitter as a town square where everyone can voice their opinion,” he stated. >Returning back to the banning of President Donald Trump, Musk shared, “I think it was a morally bad decision, to be clear, and foolish in the extreme.” >When asked about Trump’s tweets on January 6th and whether it was still a mistake, Musk answered, “I think if there are tweets that are wrong and bad, those should be either deleted or made invisible and a suspension, a temporary suspension is appropriate, but not a permanent ban.” >When asked to clarify if he will allow Trump back on Twitter, Musk answered, “He has publicly stated that he will not be coming back to Twitter, and that he will only be on Truth Social. And this is the point that I’m trying to make, which is perhaps not getting across, is that banning Trump from Twitter didn’t end Trump’s voice. It will amplify it among the right and this is why it is morally wrong and flat out stupid.” >Hayter responded to this noting he would give up his Tesla if it indeed Musk follows through. He wrote on Twitter, “Nothing could get me to give up my Tesla … Except this. #NeverForgetJanuary6th.” >Hayter has made his dislike for President Donald Trump well known. Back in September 2015, he tweeted, “We all have a little Donald Trump in us… But a high-fibre diet can move it right along.” https://archive.ph/E0zZT Parents getting worried about the rise of Huggy Wuggy >They want it banned - they just want the government to do it for them. A rather nasty adult game which appears to be targeted at young children appears to have gotten child experts and karen mothers upset. >Huggy is terrifying monster from a popular horror game called Poppy’s Playtime. The game is for adults but for some reason young kids really like it. >Huggy Wuggy has a gaping mouth filled with rows of spiky teeth and is the sort of thing that kids have nightmares about. The only problem is that they are not. >Content creators are taking advantage of his popularity; even off-brand Huggy Wuggy plushies are being sold to children, sometimes even as bedtime cuddly toys. >But child care experts are warning parents about the "deceiving character.” One UK principal, David Hegarty, wrote on Facebook: >"It has been brought to my attention that a character named 'Huggy Wuggy' is being viewed by our children online... >The character can be easily viewed on YouTube channels and is a teddy bear with razor-sharp teeth that sings worrying songs about hugging and killing. In one of the videos, the bear asks the viewer to take their last breath. It is a very deceiving character, as hugs should be seen as something kind and loving." >Another UK-based principal, Justine Brown, claims that pupils are playing a Huggy Wuggy game on the playground, "hugging and whispering nasty things in the recipient's ear." >Some adults seem to believe that the character was created maliciously, with the intent to inspire real violence, with his name and toy-like appearance being a way to slip past the watchful eye of the algorithm and brainwash children. Sheesh with imaginations like that no wonder they are so terrified – the parents not the kids. >The character was originally designed to scare adults; his popularity with young children and subsequent spread online couldn’t have been predicted by the creators of Poppy’s Playtime. >If parents are so worried about it why don’t they block it from their child’s phones rather than complaining to some state legislator asking it to do their job for them. >While the popularity of Huggy Wuggy is very real, children are not being brainwashed into acts of violence; the worst the creature can inspire is a bad dream! <Here is the song that goes with the game: <My name's Huggy Wuggy Body fuzzy and cuddly Don't you wanna come and hug me? <Hug me day and night My name's Huggy Wuggy Sharp teeth leave you bloody <Don't you ever call me ugly Hug me 'til you die I know where you're hiding <Down the vents you're sliding Don't you know that I will find you? <So won't you come and play with me? There are exceptions (CSE, illegal behaviour, spam or network manipulation, etc), but generally permanent bans are a failure of ours and don’t work, which I wrote about here after the event (and called for a resilient social media protocol),” Dorsey said in a post responding to a user who said Musk believes Dorsey agrees with him that “there shouldn’t be permanent bans on individual Twitter users.” >Dorsey said in a follow-up post that banning Trump was a misguided “business decision.” >“It was a business decision, it shouldn’t have been. and we should always revisit our decisions and evolve as necessary. I stated in that thread and still believe that permanent bans of individuals are directionally wrong,” Dorsey wrote in the post.

Complex ethics surround the creation of war video games from real African conflicts >With a burgeoning video game market that is set to become the world’s fastest-growing, it is crucial to tell Africa’s histories of war on these platforms better while embracing a job-creating industry of the future. >Africa is currently experiencing a quiet but unmissable boom, with the rise of video gaming across the continent. In 2015, some 74 million Africans played video games. By >2021, the figure stood at 186 million, with South Africa having the highest proportion of active gamers (40% of its population). >Ghana and Nigeria are the second- and third-highest markets, respectively, with Kenya and Ethiopia steadily climbing. This trend is set to grow even higher in coming years thanks to the rise of smartphones, mobile gaming and improving connectivity. >Recent figures show the market has seen a 12% growth between 2020 and 2021. Indeed, in February of this year, Quartz reported that Africa is set to become the world’s fastest-growing video game market. “Gamification” is also widely regarded as one of the industries and skills of the future. >Encouragingly, African game developers are also on the rise, many under the umbrella of the Pan Africa Gaming Group, or PAGG. >But video games have long been a polarising issue. Of particular concern are the effects of violent video games on young minds, including the potential for a propensity for internalising said violence. Essentially viewing violence as a learned behaviour, proponents of this view argue that violent video games give rise to violence in those who play them. >The stakes are notable when we consider that most video game consumers are young people. The argument goes that these games create young people who would grow up desensitised to violence. >But the debate is vibrant for a reason. Slews of psychology teams have proved the opposite to be the case, often with the same research methods (cross-sectional, experimental and longitudinal). All the while, both young and old play on. >Potential regulators often have to confront the issue of freedom, with overregulation being a threat to fundamental liberties such as expression, property, and even association (online gaming communities are vibrant social systems that connect people across vast distances). https://archive.ph/0gywW Battlefield 2042 will become more like Apex Legends suggests EA >EA’s CEO remains confident in Battlefield 2042’s future, especially with Respawn CEO Vince Zampella in charge. >During a recent earnings call with investors, EA was unsurprisingly asked about the current status of Battlefield 2042. Players were left unimpressed when it launched and, in the five months since then, the subsequent updates have done little to win disgruntled players back or retain the ones it still had. >While there’s been talk that developer DICE has already moved on to a brand-new Battlefield, EA CEO Andrew Wilson tried to assure investors that Battlefield 2042 isn’t being abandoned. >We take a long view here. This is one of the great franchises of our industry, built by one of the great teams in the industry, and our expectations are it’s going to continue to grow and be a really important part of our portfolio for many, many years to come,’ said Wilson. >Wilson appears to have a lot of confidence in the leadership of Vince Zampella, the CEO of Apex Legends studio Respawn and co-creator of Call Of Duty who was put in charge of the franchise a month after Battlefield 2042 launched. >He even adds that Battlefield 2042’s development has been overhauled to adopt what he calls the ‘Zampella/Respawn model.’ He doesn’t namedrop Apex Legends, but it can be assumed that the team is now looking to that game for inspiration. >‘They’re rethinking the development process from the ground up, and really using kind of the Vince Zampella/Respawn model of ‘get to the fun as quickly as possible.’’ Wilson explains, as transcribed by VGC. >‘They’ve been doing thousands of updates for the community, working on quality of life, and really getting the core game right. I think there’s still more work for us to do there and the team is committed to doing that work for the community. >‘Beyond that, once we get to a place where we feel like we’re in the right place with the core experience, and with the core game, then you should expect us to invest and grow beyond where the game is at today.’ https://archive.ph/2bDhB

>>175188 I've seen a news that talks about Sodium-Ion, which is a eco-friendly alternative to Lithium. >>175192 Lots of car companies are going with batteries because of the trend I think, also Tesla being insanely popular because of their advanced battery tech. The problem with Hydrogen is the lack of infrastructure to supply people with readily demanded Hydrogen gas for their cars, California is the only state that has Hydrogen stations. China’s Troubling New Military Strategy Is Coming Into View >The last time the outside world paid much attention to the Solomon Islands was in 1943: More U.S. troops lost their lives in the six-month Battle of Guadalcanal there than in the deadliest four-year period of the Afghan War. >Since World War II, this remote chain of South Pacific islands has gone from occupied territory to colony to frequently chaotic independent state, all without the great powers seeming to notice. Last month, however, a secret deal between the Solomons and China aroused fear of Beijing’s expanding presence throughout the region. >China’s rivals worry that it may be shifting its security strategy, from a focus on economic sway alone to an increased emphasis on military dominance. Over the past few months, rumors of a pact have been circulating among the small cadre of observers who can locate the Solomons on a map (they’re about 1,200 miles northeast of Australia) and almost immediately sparked alarm. >Whereas the U.S. tends to demonstrate its power by sailing a flotilla through contested waters or conducting complex exercises with allies, China prefers to speak with massive infusions of cash. Beijing is the largest trade partner of most nations in East and Southeast Asia, and the largest source of imports for almost all of the rest of the continent. >As a result, it wields a financial weapon more powerful than a fleet of battleships. Also unlike the U.S., which is enmeshed in an array of treaties, commitments, and partnerships—formal and informal—around the world, China has no formal alliance with any nation. Its apparent closeness with Moscow is relatively recent (and may yet be derailed by Vladimir Putin’s invasion), and its few long-term partners, such as Pakistan and North Korea, provide more headaches than help. >But that investment-versus-firepower balance is shifting. In 2017, Chinese President Xi Jinping announced an ambitious military-modernization program. The People’s Liberation Army (PLA), numbering nearly 1 million active-duty troops, would overhaul its training and equipment purchases in order to “fight and win wars” against a “strong enemy.” >China’s navy already has more ships than any other in the world (although the U.S. Navy has greater tonnage), and its air force is larger than any competitor in the region. China has been increasing its defense spending every year for more than two decades, and in 2022 announced a bump of 7.1 percent. >(The U.S. typically spends about three times as much on defense as China does, although apples-to-apples comparisons are difficult; Washington’s 2022 budget increase was 5 percent.) >This program of military upgrading has been accompanied by a steadily growing appetite for adventure. The same year as Xi’s announcement, China opened its first overseas military base, in the East African nation of Djibouti. It has built or is negotiating to build dual-use naval facilities in nations across the Indian Ocean and Southeast Asia, including Bangladesh, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Kenya, Seychelles, Tanzania, Tajikistan, and Myanmar. >More worrying to its rivals, China has been willing to engage in military confrontations that previous leadership had steadfastly rejected. >In the South China Sea, Beijing has seized and fortified scraps of rock claimed by the Philippines, Vietnam, and Taiwan, and asserted rights over areas claimed by Malaysia, Brunei, and Indonesia. In the high Himalayas, the PLA initiated a lethal 2020 border skirmish with nuclear-armed India: 20 Indian soldiers and an unknown number of PLA troops (fighting with fists, rocks, and clubs wrapped in barbed wire—all forces on the border have been unarmed for decades) were killed in the first fatal encounter between the two nations since the days of Mao Zedong. >All of this makes China’s intentions in the Solomon Islands more troubling. “This isn’t just paranoia,” Rory Medcalf, of Australia National University and the author of a recent book on Chinese expansionism, told me. “For years we’ve been seeing quasi-imperial behavior by China throughout the region.” >Both Chinese and Solomon Islands officials insist that there’s nothing new here. Since the end of the Chinese civil war, countries have had to choose between recognizing Beijing or Taipei as the true representative of a single China, and three years ago the Solomons switched recognition to Beijing. China, which is by far the Solomons’ largest trading partner, recently granted $120 million to enable the Solomons to host the 2023 Pacific Games. >Australia’s former high commissioner to the Solomons has suggested that, in addition to refilling the nation’s coffers, Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare “is anxious to shore up his personal political fortunes.” >The security deal is said to permit China to protect its citizens working on infrastructure projects, and potentially the several thousand ethnic-Chinese Solomon Islanders who have suffered greatly from civil strife. >The Solomons’ small police force has often been unable to maintain order: From 2003 to 2017 (and, embarrassingly to Sogavare, again in November 2021), it has had to call on Australia to help quell ethnic violence https://archive.ph/4sEwU New Rumor Says Disney Is Planning on Making a “Big NFT Acquisition” >There is a new rumor that says the Walt Disney Company is planning on making a “Big NFT acquisition.” >This wouldn’t be that much of a stretch given that Disney has recently posted a job opening for a Manager of Business Development to “lead efforts in the NFT space.” >Now it seems Disney might have it’s eyes on purchasing an NFT studio akin to Nike acquiring RTFKT Studios. >I can’t see Disney going in unless they buy control or make a strategic partnership, with them in control. >This led to a lot of speculation into who the mouse could be buying into. Some speculated it would be VeVe, as Disney has done some NFT stuff with them before, but Burke flat out said it was not them. >He did say that it would be the largest deal to date, IF it goes through: >Of course it’s all rumor. Disney has already make a lot of people upset recently, especially on Twitter. The same groups are usually emphatically anti-NFT as well. If true, this is going to get very interesting for sure. https://archive.ph/D8dJz

Because moronic environmentalists have latched onto the idea that someday we'll be able to create a "super battery" that can store all the energy in the world and we will no longer need fossil fuels. >>175206 >The problem with Hydrogen is the lack of infrastructure to supply people with readily demanded Hydrogen gas for their cars, California is the only state that has Hydrogen stations. I prefer that cars go to the biofuel route, which there are many options such as Hemp, Methane gas from sewage or food waste, or Algae. Part of the problem is also the cost to actually change the fuel system in the cars. For example, for YEAR, it's been known that, currently, the cleanest and most efficient form of fuel for automobiles is propane. However, despite this being the case, changing cars to runs solely on propane needs some major modifications to the entire fuel system of the car. On top of that, with the way majority of modern cars are manufactured, the companies just mass produce all the "essential" parts of the vehicle, assemble it according to what is designed, and then get the "rare" parts on custom order to fit whatever unique design the vehicle has. And, because of this being the case, the engines are almost always designed to process either gasoline or diesel. Now, it would be possible for a company to halt all production and transition all their cars fuel systems over to being capable of running on propane. However, that doesn't factor in the money that the company would be losing during the transition into the different fuel system, the R&D that it would cost design these engines and implement them in order to meet with government regulations, and the possibility that the customer may not buy them due to how rare propane depots are. >>175211 >I can't really blame the guy, he's just the guy who made a thing. >>175235 There are easier ways to mind-control people that last longer. For example using the Kullback–Leibler divergence and applying it to cognition. all you have to do is to define the cost of cognition in terms of the divergences of information between these two probability distributions that are the internal models and the observations of the world. This can be reduced to the sum of the cross entropy of the two models and the perceptual cost, and just calculate how much time it will take for an individual to slowly believe anything that is being forced to believe, and how much information is going to be needed to change the internal model of that person. All you need is an echo-chamber and make that individual consume that information over and over and make it impossible for that person to encounter anything that contradicts what you want them to believe.

>>175357 They are a "failsafe" in case the archives don't work for somebody. >>175370 Safety is definitely a bit of an issue. Not just due to the energy per weight but also due to the fact that 1 kg of hydrogen is 1000 moles of it. One can imagine the issue a canister may cause with that much in a singular container. >"On-board hydrogen storage in the range of 5–13 kg H2 is required to encompass the full platform of light-duty vehicles." So you're going to be carrying 5000-13000 moles of this highly flammable gas. Let's say all safety measures fail and all of it ignites, which is highly unlikely but could in theory happen. Your 5 kg - 13 kg of gas is going to generate 0.7 - 1.8 GJ of energy. Now this is highly idealised since I doubt there are 5000-13000 moles of oxygen readily available in the air around your car, but this is a safety concern that is far more realistic than one that people have over "muh chernobyl" when it comes to nuclear power.

The majority of alcohol sales are from addicts. It's time to return the golden era of Prohibition when the gangs and mobsters had the least power. :^) >>175361 I think you a word.
>>175384 Well also gasoline doesn't travel through metal. If it's inside a metal container, it very much remains contained within it indefinitely as long as it is sealed. The same can't exactly be said of hydrogen. It's not going to be stored inside metal containers, but if let's say there is a small leak in the gas tank then it's going to be travelling through the car itself rather than leaving droplets on the ground in a trail behind it.
>>175190 Even then, the same mistakes will inevitably be made further on in the future. Here's an interesting anecdote paraphrased by myself: >In the early days of long-distance naval and mercantile voyages, limes were kept stored in large quantities so that a ship's crew could get their vital doses of Vitamin C. Failure to get vitamin C for too long a time would cause scurvy, which rots away at your gums and causes your teeth to fall out eventually >The explanation why limes were kept aboard became spoken less and less and people just kept doing it out of tradition and expectation, kind of like that monkey ladder experiment when monkeys would beat the ones who got on the ladder despite not having experienced the water 'punishment' >One day, a young admiral asked why so many limes were kept aboard. When he didn't get a satisfactory answer, he had them removed so as to make more room for mercantile goods and whatnot >The crew of said ships under the captain's command all eventually succumbed to scurvy, and they had to learn all over again why limes were kept aboard
>>175383 Tolerating their existence is different than being "inclusive." And even if that weren't the case, that doesn't mean it's okay to betray GG's core fucking principles just because a TORfag can't click an archive link. >>175371 hydrogen is 2g/mol wtf are you reading per kilogram its a completely useless metric for a fucking GAS do you know how big that fucking volume is, the table clearly shows its the LOWEST energy density per volume (ie. mj/m3 , mj/l ) if you compare 1 liter of gasoline with hydrogen its 34.2mj/l = 34200mj/m^3 34200 / 12.7 = 2693m^3 of gas and if you want to be a smart ass and think you can fucking compress that into a tiny bottle the resulting pressure is pv=nrt, compressing 2693m3 of hydrogen into 1 liter is m = 2693 * 0.09 = 242g n = m / 2 = 121mol r = 0.082 t = 24c = 297k p = 2946 atm!!!!!!!!
>>175400 numbers hard. What you mean to say that for hydrogen to have the same energy/density as gasoline it would need to be compressed at 2946 atmospheres of pressure? I can start to see how hard that would be, yes. A quick google show me that oxygen in oxygen tanks for scuba diving at most are at 238 atm... so we would need some pretty fancy and dangerous fuel cells if I understand it correctly.
>>175401 Or you could put it into a 15 liter bottle, that would bring it under 200 atm. You'd still have a large scuba tank sized vessel holding the same technical level of energy as a liter of uncompressed gasoline. Another consideration is that mining fossil fuel uses less energy than the resultant product delivers, so they sort of pay for themselves until they run out. However fuel cells can be resupplied during excess wind or solar generation, overcoming one of the main questions of what to do with excess power. Of course then you get low wind and cloudy days cucking generation, and the dubious energy/pollution cost to make solar/wind sources, but I don't think any politician interested in ending gasoline will advocate for expanding anything besides solar/wind power.

Censor claims he’s been warned that Modern Warfare 2 is “sh*t” >Doug “Censor” Martin is one of Call of Duty’s most elite and respected players and a source of his has apparently come into some contact with CoD 2022 AKA Modern Warfare 2 and says that it’s “s**t. >The hype behind Modern Warfare 2 is already much higher than a few of the recent CoD games as featuring the words “Modern Warfare 2” alone are enough to arouse curiosity. >Tack on the reports that classic MW2 weapons and maps are set to return to both the game and Warzone 2 and it’s easy to see why. >At the recent NFL Draft in Las Vegas, several top NFL prospects were shown a preview of Modern Warfare 2 ahead of the game’s upcoming reveal. >Furthermore, reports claim pro players potentially held discussions about the game in LA. Since then, snippets of gossip and speculation have creeped out and now Censor, a former 2-time CoD National Champion and Brand Ambassador for Boston Breach, has revealed what he’s heard about the game. >Modern Warfare 2 not worth the hype? Clipped from a recent Censor livestream, the CoD pro was captured giving his take, from what he’s heard on the grapevine, on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. >So, from my sources, the game’s st. That’s my sources, I’m not leaking my sources, but I heard the game is st, and it’s from sources I trust. So, I’m cautiously optimistic, cause you guys know I’m always optimistic about the new CoD, I’m cautiously optimistic this year.” >Unsurprisingly, Censor’s comments drummed up some uncertainty and also had a few people questioning these claims. >Elliot Dunn replied saying: “Can’t really make [a] comment if you haven’t played it Censor,” and PoisonXX said: “Game is s**t” doesn’t give us much, why is it shit, we need details.” >Censor doesn’t name his sources, and given that there’s a fair amount of secrecy regarding the state of MW2 at the moment, it’s hard to gauge much from these words, >especially with how much of the game isn’t public knowledge yet. We’ll have to either wait for further comment from Censor himself or to see how the game looks as and when it’s shown off by Activision. https://archive.ph/pO8fC Taliban Bans TikTok, Popular Video Game In Afghanistan >Afghan girls wearing traditional dresses play with a mobile phone. The Taliban says its ban on certain social media applications is aimed to protect younger generations. >Afghanistan's Taliban rulers have banned the social media application TikTok and popular online game PUBG, saying the move is aimed to protect younger generations from a bad influence. >Spokesman Inamullah Samangani tweeted that the Taliban government on April 21 instructed the Communications and Information Technology Ministry to restrict access to the two digital platforms, as well as instructing it to close all channels that broadcast what he called immoral programs. >"The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology is required to block PUBG games and an application called TikTok, which misleads the younger generation," Samangani tweeted. >"Likewise, it must prevent as much as possible the publication of any channel that publishes immoral material and programs." >Chinese-owned TikTok, a global short-video platform popular with younger audiences, has been criticized for what some experts said was a negative impact on children and young adults' mental health due to the risk of addiction and its potential for bullying and enabling sexual predators. >PUBG: Battlegrounds, or PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, is a player-versus-player online shooter game developed by South Korean gaming company Krafton. PUBG allows up to 100 players to engage in what is known as a battle royale -- a type of large-scale last-man-standing video deathmatch. >Experts say it would be difficult to completely bar the applications in Afghanistan because they can still be accessed via proxy applications and virtual private networks. >The Taliban returned to power in August following a blitz offensive across Afghanistan amid the hasty withdrawal of U.S.-led forces from the war-wracked country. >The militant group promised a softer version of the harsh Islamist rule that characterized its first stint in power from 1996 to 2001, when any form of entertainment was banned and punished severely. >But many restrictions, especially on women's rights to education, have still been imposed by the Taliban rulers since they seized control of the country last year. https://archive.ph/7sFr1

>>175253 >Care to spill the details? I take back what I said since it looks like there is no information on who made Daisy. In Wario's case, the original artist was Hiroji Kiyotake with Yoichi Kotabe helping finalizing Wario's design (He has also refined early sketches of Miyamoto's characters to their definitive designs they're known in today) Yokoi's role was producing the Mario Land games & being a mentor to Miyamoto. That being said, I still wouldn't be surprised if grudges were still being held on Yokoi. Despite his success in designing the Game & Watch along with the original GameBoy among other projects that has shaped Nintendo to the giant they are today, the failure of the Virtual Boy did not do him favors. He formed Koto Laboratory after the GameBoy Pocket was released. He helped make the WonderSwan for Bandi using the newly formed lab. Bandai approached Yokoi to create the WonderSwan to compete against Nintendo's GameBoy. Now when I see that he died two years before the WonderSwan was released by an automobile accident, I can't help but think that Nintendo wasn't too thrilled that he shared his knowledge with a rival company. Before they entered video games, Nintendo has made hanafuda cards, sex hotels, taxi services, toys, & board games.

>>175460 Konami does, the point I'm trying to illustrate is that I would not be surprised if Nintendo arranged with the yakuza or some other party to help murder Gunpei & frame his death as a tradgic accident. It was one of their developers. Sega literally held his sister hostage in order to force hi m to finish so me games that he couldn't (I don't remember why), and he wrecked one of Sega's arcade machines (not the building) and put it in front of Sega's main building as a warning for them to release his sister, which they did. Dead Space remake Will Release After March 2023 But an Unannounced Remake Is Coming First >EA released its financial results for the previous year as well as a list of games they’re expecting to release during the current financial year. There are the usual sports games and Need for Speed on the list, but one notable omission was Dead Space Remake, which means it won’t be released until after the end of March 2023. >However, the list of upcoming EA games did include four unannounced titles including another remake and a major IP. EA will start off the fiscal year 2023 with the release of F1 22 on July 1. >According to the financial results presentation, this will be followed by a new Madden NFL game and the final ever FIFA game to be developed by EA. >Both of these will be released between July and September 2022, while a Need for Speed and a new NHL game will be released between October and December 2022. >The list concludes with a new PGA Tour game between January and March 2023 as well as four unannounced games: a “major IP”, a “partner title”, a “remake”, and another “sports title”. >As Dead Space Remake has already been announced, it is unlikely to be the unannounced remake on the EA games list. >If the game is to stick to its current early 2023 release date, this will see it arrive on PS5 between April and June 2023. Perhaps we’ll learn more during the Dead Space live stream on May 12. >Using the same logic, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2, Respawn’s Star Wars first-person shooter, Bit Reactor‘s Star Wars strategy game, Skate 4, Dragon Age 4, and the new Mass Effect game are not included in that list either. >During their earnings call, as transcribed by Seeking Alpha, EA CEO Andrew Wilson confirmed “our two new studios in Seattle are working on new projects. >Our Motive studio has an unannounced title in development, and we have more underway across our global studio teams.” >During a later Q&A session, he also revealed the unannounced “sports title” would be Super Mega Baseball 4 but didn’t drop any more hints on the identity of the other titles. We should hear about these soon, though. >In other news, Sony CFO Hiroki Totoki has once again confirmed AAA games will not be appearing on the new PS Plus tiers on day one. >Elsewhere, the Extended Play promotion has begun on the PS5 and PS4 Playstation Stores with plenty of discounted titles and DLC. https://archive.ph/uHCXB Raiders smash way into popular Warhammer workshop in Middlesbrough >Offenders smashed their way into Middlesbrough's Warhammer workshop and stole hundreds of pounds worth of items. A crime scene investigation team has been at the shop throughout the day >Three suspects are believed to have forced their way into the Dundas Street workshop early on Sunday morning. They have then made off with around £500 worth of predominantly new and unopened items from the shop, which is popular among gamers. >Cleveland Police were called to the incident and a crime scene investigation team has been at the gaming workshop throughout the day searching the property. >Shop manager Graeme Pucifer says CCTV appears to show three suspects dressed in black break in to the shop at around 6am. >The investigating team was at the shop until around 3pm, meaning the store was closed for the entire day. The workshop is not due to reopen until Wednesday, in line with usual opening hours, giving Graeme and the team time to get things back in order. >The front door to the property was damaged in the break-in and has now been boarded up. Graeme, who has worked at the Middlesbrough workshop for seven years, said: "It was a friend who happened to be going past who phoned me up when I was on the way into work. >"They have smashed through the door and they've taken a lot of random items - it doesn't look like they've known what they are looking for. >They were probably just looking for items to sell on. They were probably in the shop for about five minutes before they escaped through the back. >Thankfully a lot of the items and displays we have put work into haven't been touched. Everything that they took was new and unboxed which they could easily sell on. Retail price was probably around £500." >Cleveland Police have appealed for anyone with information about the incident to get in touch. "Police received a call yesterday (Sunday May 8) that some time from 5pm on Saturday to 9am on Sunday the Games Workshop in Dundas Street had been burgled. >Scenes of crime officers were tasked to attend the premises as part of on-going inquiries," said a spokesman for the force. >"Anyone with information is asked to contact Cleveland Police on the 101 number quoting Ref 077128 or to speak anonymously to Crimestoppers." https://archive.ph/6GEey

>>175525 Firstly. The bot percentage does not need to be very high in order for them to heavily manipulate Twitter. Bot need only be more active than regular users. There is absolutely never a time when a large percentage of the entire userbase is liking/sharing/tweeting something. The vast majority are lurkers scrolling through their dopamine feed and only liking a few things. Even when something seems huge on Twitter and is entirely organic, that's still only a small fraction of account liking it. Add to that momentum manipulation. It only takes a very small amount of botting to boost something enough that it starts getting in people's faces and accruing more organic likes, even if no one would care about it normally. Secondly, see >>175533 Left wing accounts have been losing followers en masse since it was confirmed the Musk/Twitter deal was likely going through, so they're cleaning shit up before hand, and they have plenty of time to do so. They could probably nuke 99% of bots accounts in an instant, since they're the ones controlling most of the bots. It's pretty clear they did a mass culling of them since the announcement, so any calculations done have the deal was set out are pointless.

>>175542 I hope this is just about him getting a better deal. Honestly, the whole botting thing is such a huge problem. So much of the left's control is based on them puffing themselves up to look bigger than they actually are, mostly via social media mob brigades. They've essentially taken over the apathetic masses by holding control of the levers. So many of their fronts, from large scale politics down to anime censorship, are pushed with this method. If that could be curbed it would change so much. There's a reason shitlibs never compete with economics (not buying what they don't support etc), because they know they don't have the numbers. So instead they get control of chokepoints and use the apathetic middle, who will always consume regardless, and pretend they are among their number when in reality those same people would still be buying if the other side was in charge instead.
So wasted 2 and a half hours of my life watching the new Dr Strange movie, and it was so painfully bad I don't even have words to describe it because humanity isn't advanced enouth to describe my level of disgust.

>>175550 It wasn't even funny to watch because it sucks. It was bland and nonsensical. Also fuck you too postcredit scene.
>>175525 I heard a bit about it last night, and general speculation is that it has something to do with Twitter's bot accounts and Twitter staff just bald-faced lying to investors and ad agencies about how much traffic from what demographics they really get. If they're just making up growth numbers to lie to their business partners, and it seems like they are considering the rather sudden shift in traffic and subscriptions that occurred just after the acquisition news dropped, there could be serious legal rammifications. Could be a case of just beating the grass to startle the snakes, could be Elon trying to get a few heads to roll in a very public execution in order to bring the rest of the company in line, could be a scare tactic to dissuade further fraud and tampering behind the scenes.... or he could just be angling for a better deal if he threatens to leave Twitter's ass hanging out in the breeze while he has a viable escape plan. Right now, if he pulls out - he owes Twitter a billion dollars... but if Twitter lied about the value they represented by inflating their userbase with bots (to prop up liberal/sjw accounts who nobody liked), then they could be on the hook for fraud and owe HIM a billion dollars. That would necessitate him pulling out of the deal, though, and I don't think that's his angle. He's got a bunch of other rich fucks backing him on this, so all of this just for a billion dollar payout seems unlikely to me. He's letting them know very publicly that he holds all of the cards, and if by chance this public exposure of fraud sends ripples throughout the rest of the tech/social media industry that exposes them to investigation in the future if they don't straighten the fuck out - then all the better. Maybe I read the situation wrong, but that's my impression so far.

>>175695 There's a rickroll-style version doing the rounds that cuts to the Touhou Suika dancing video immediately after the first shot; the woman getting shot in the head. It's letter-boxed to 1280:1280, currently cropping it and scaling it to 480p webm.

>>175695 There’s no video yet, just bits and pieces. The person who claims to have the video is afraid to post it since the person who posted Tarrant video publicly went to prison for doing so. Given his womanly timid posts I fully speculate he’ll be cooperating with his local authorities so submit it to the government as private evidence.

>>175704 No, nothing was posted here. It looks like he didn't even post to 8kun or 4chan either, just to Twitch and to his own Discord server that he sent people invites to shortly before the shooting.
Don't forget that with the Christchurch shooting, even torrent trackers bent the knee and censored the video. J*shua C*nnor M**n had to quickly figure out how to set up his own tracker to deal with it because everyone was just hot-linking to the file on K*w*farms.

Looking at the manifesto, half of it seems to be plagiarized from Brenton's manifesto, as someone here already said, and the rest is just cuck /pol/ memes and other bullshit Very fitting that he's got "NIGGER" written on his gun, but he only seems to have targeted whites

Aw shit, here we go again... Look at Tarrant, who remembers him? Anons and butt-hurt busy bodies. The normal fags don't remember him but his actions were the excuse to push for even more censorship across the whole world. At first he may have looked like a hero to some but now the only thing left from him is just political tyranny. Now come this <GOV-AGENCY-NAME-HERE> faggot, name drops the chans and go on shooting. In a matter of time this place will be hunted like former 8kunt was before. Even, for some reason, 8moe escapes intact, sooner or later another copycat will show up, name <CURRENT-CHAN-HERE> and go shooting. I'm tired of this shit man. The false flag is clear as day, but the media won't care. The script is same, media either don't tell the whole story or change something to suit their agenda. "Trusted" sources echo what the media says. Government steps in and uses this as a base to push more censorship/tyranny.
