Since the thread is almost over and I won't be continuing this in the next one;
>Where do you think those 10,000 people went? Do you think they just decided 4chan is actually great after all and that they don't need a free platform anymore?
Yes, I do. By the time old 8chan was reduced to a shambling corpse by Jim, 4chan was under new ownership and the passion and anger of the #GG Exodus had died down to embers. With their home site dead, the next best option for many anons is the site, however shitty it be, that has the most people on it to talk to and the most content to consume. What remained on 8kun between the deplatforming and the loli ban were the ultra-diehards. i.e.
us , and those people are who this site has inherited its userbase from. With everything bad that happened I imagine that 8chan expats on 4chan now see their time with us as a failed experiment and have no desire to repeat it. So they stay. And will probably stay there forever barring Hiroshi repeating moot's mistakes.
>Could you honestly say you would've taken in the gamergate exodus despite all the baggage with the site run how it is? It was an indisputable harm to 8chan with the weeks of DDOS attacks and domain takedown, I know you would've kicked gamergate the fuck out whether you choose admit it here or not.
Absolutely I would take them in. Considering where such an exodus might originate from (4chan, banned Reddit communities, social media site purges) I expect the real problems to be caused by people like yourself shouting about "normalfags" and "cuckchan refugees" etc. and trying to tear the site apart from within rather than allow a #GG-like group to settle in and be happy.
The Russian government, a world power, flexed and fucked on this site once already, small as it is. We peed in their eye and didn't back down. Make of that what you want.
