Dragon's Dogma 2: CapJews Anonymous 03/31/2024 (Sun) 21:26:06 Id: b4efaa No. 953404 >>1180448 >>1191084
So it seems that the launch of this game was piss poor due to the bad performance issues and normalfags waking up to the DRM/Microtransactions shit. Still there's a good game to be found, and I hope everyone is enjoying the game as much as I am. Just recently capcom released a new patch where they added a New Game function in addition to a FPS Lock for console fags. In addition to being able to get your own house earlier in the game, and changing Art of Metamorphosis to 99 instead of 2 in the Pawn Guild, thus eliminating the need for microtransactions altogether. Sadly it seems the performance issues won't be release until later this year since it seems capcom needs some more time to cook the game and have it working with DLSS3 and other techniques to make the game actually run at a bearable framerate. Still with all of the complaints they got, hopefully they can have some options to fix the performance issues by using the GPU a bit more in towns. Still, have you been enjoying the game /v/?
How is performance now that the game's shine period has passed?

>>1148689 >How is performance now that the game's shine period has passed?
It's a year and a month since launch tomorrow and it's still got Denuvo. They're literally spending for Denuvo on a game that sells worse after launch than a 10 year old game with no marketing beyond "put it on sale occasionally". Capcom fucked this up in every way possible.
>>1168027 The fact that it still has denuvo means it still sells well enough to warrant the monthly fee.
>>1168738 ...or it means that the DLC is actually coming and it'd be stupid to remove denuvo in that case.
The game had its fun moments but it clearly needed at least another year of development to become decent. The performance shit show was the final nail in the coffin. Monster Hunter was spared because it’s far more popular than DD. Honestly the RE Engine is one of the worst shit I’ve ever seen, even worse than SE’s Luminous. Thankfully, the next portable title is ditching it for good.

>>1168789 >The game had its fun moments but it clearly needed at least another year of development to become decent. Yeah they basically thew the game under the bus to please shareholders and give space to Wilds. No wonder Itsuno left, they fucked him up on purpose, he tried to gaslight himself to think the game was ready and everything.
>>1175174 threw*
>>1168789 DD2 is already decent at the least, but it could have been great

>>1175174 >Yeah they basically threw the game under the bus to please shareholders and give space to Wilds. Instead of the ridiculous "DD2 was middling on purpose" cope I've seen, I think this is probably the truth knowing the history of vidya. Anybody who knows the industry know it can be really shitty for purely business reasons, like EA ending Rings of Power's (no relation to the show) cartridge production because they wanted to allocate more to Madden, or Bethesda forcing Arkane to call Typhoon "Prey" because Zenimax wanted to keep the trademark. Devs get fucked over all the time by suits, that seems much more likely for DD2 than anything else.
>>1168789 Pretty much my sentiments. Good game but profoundly disappointing and not as good as Dark Arisen, a mix of odd priorities and Capcom yet again fucking over DD in terms of resources allotted. RE Engine isn't the one-size-fits-all MT Framework was, but I do think it's fine for linear games; DD2 & Wilds trying to fit huge worlds with lots of technology going on crippled it. Kunitsu-Gami came out a few months after DD2 and not only runs like a dream on the same PC that I can barely get those two games functional on but looks nicer than either aesthetically.

>>1148537 I wasn't expecting /ddg/ to die the way it did. At least we have webms with sound now
>>953404 (OP) >still there's a good game to be found this game is an action RPG >no evade button in 2024 >no lock on in 2024 >worse climbing mechanic than shadow of the colossus (2005) and the open world is fucking atrocious >ox carts are severely retarded and don't guarantee transport as they get destroyed midway >ferrystones are stupid expensive >open world designs consist of two (2) major cities and players only travel west for the story dont even get me started on the questionable game design >wilhelmina isn't romanceable for some fucking reason >major boss can be entirely skipped or completely missed by accident >upgrade materials come from bosses that take in-game weeks to respawn >final boss is a fucking cutscene fuck this game. fuck capcom. and fuck YOU OP for even suggesting theres a good game under all the bullshit that this game is already hated for at face value.
>>1180448 I love seeing filtered fromshitter posts like this
will The Dragon Princess save this game?
>>1168789 No, they fucked it up on purpose. There's bad choices that anyone who looked at any feedback would have realized immediately were bad ideas >people liked making pawns on both extremes of height <put a minimum height restriction that's completely artificial <seems like it was implemented so late even the pawn server doesn't realize pawns below that limit are modified >people hated warrior's limited skills <now everyone has it >people loved the mix and match armor <remove it and lock most gear to a single class
>>1180448 You mention some things that are legitimate issues but then you go and post <no evade button in 2024 <no lock on in 2024 Not all games have to play like Fromsoft games, not all action games have to be like Elden Ring, please play more action games.

Someone make the general so I can post about DDON without being off-topic.
>>1183028 It looks like we have 2 options, making a DDON thread on this board or creating /ddg/ on /vgg/.
(1.80 MB 1714x1388 sadclops.jpg)

>>1183356 Hmm... Making a thread for DDON on this busy board might be good for it since it relies on new players as they function as testers for the new features and some of them may even end up contributing on the developmental side but then again splitting up ddg like that will make it even deader than it already is. In any case my bed calls and I shan't resist.
Where can I get ferrystones early game. I just walked back from the thief village and i didn’t actually complete the quest.

Well, the new job training bs kill my drive to play dogma online. Thank you anons for playing with me. I honestly don't see myself playing this ever again. Dragon's Dogma truly is a cursed IP.
>>1186069 Found them at general stores oh my fucking god it was so expensive it hurt to buy it and go down to 900 g
>>1186157 These kind of updates do suck, we've been playing for at least 3 months with maxed out stuff, and now we have to earn it again, or rather earn it for the first time, a first time player probably wouldn't care too much because much of the shit you have to kill for job training you'll find as you explore and do the Main Quests, but for us veterans it fucking sucks having to go back and find 50 LV10 Goblins, as far as I know, they're planning on severely reducing the amount of things you need to kill, but still sucks having to go back and do these things, feels like a chore so you can get back your toys.
May I share a neat screenshot I took?
>>1186688 And you have to do it for the pawns, too. All of my pawns current skills are already have max or near max level, but now if I want change their vocation or other skills, I'll have to grind for 200 hours or something. So when will we get new Casual Casual Server, haha.
will we ever get another drm free release? i dont want to give capcom money.
(140.47 KB 418x348 he's just like me fr.png)

>>1183751 I don't think we should split the already small community. But I also remember some DD2 and DDO players conversations can get pretty heated. >>1187107 Did any of the new RE get denuvo patched out, yet? I know RE4 remake and RE8 have crack, but that's from a leak denuvoless build, right?
>>1183751 how does one go about playing DDON? isnt that japanese only? >>1186069 start walking again. this doesnt want you to enjoy the world. just turn off your brain and follow the road, you can just ignore all the enemies
>>1182854 I quite agree.
(600.96 KB 1812x1440 cat.jpg)

>>1186871 you are obliged to share any and all neat screenshots you take
>>1187543 it's a dead MMO, it's not japanese only. There are two servers you can play on or you can set up your own. >how to play from /ddg/: >Wanna play Dragon's Dogma Online? Click here: https://pastebin.com/779hUvtH >DDON Beginner's guide https://pastebin.com/EqbBYnVe
(940.54 KB 1280x720 bashbait.webm)

>>953404 (OP) Just like the original, Dragon's Dogma 2 is just boring as fuck. It's the same pseudo RPG with no real gear customization and build crafting or gear progression where every enemy is slow and retarded and the whole game scaling shitfucks itself because Itsuno is hellbent on making an RPG but never played one. >>1182701 >Lock on bad >Automatic bahman attack drifting good And this is why Dragon's Dogma will forever live in the shadow of From games
>1191084 this discord trannery won't work here btw
