When it comes to the IWC, two things are always certain:
>1. They will always have the darling du jour that ends up in WWE a few years later
>2. They will always shit on Hogan and his achievements
Hogan vs. Rock only has 3 stars, and the previous title match between HHH and HHH only has 2. The former was literally the transitional match between the Golden Era, who had stayed relevant throughout Attitude, and the Ruthless Aggression Era, who practically started from scratch once Austin and Rock left.
In wrestling, one shouldn't rate a match purely on workrate alone; the overness with the crowd and historic value should be considered too. The Icon vs. Icon match at WM X-8 should have another star and a half easily, based on those two additional merits.
A particularly recent and very pathetic example of their astroturfing is how they suggest Hogan was
only big in America. Straight off the bat, I can give you three reasons why that's bullshit:
==Everyone knows what the Rocky films are.== Everyone knows the villains in each of them. Apollo Creed (which doesn't really count), Clubber Lang, Thunderlips and Ivan Drago.
Until Stan Hansen and Vader, he was the biggest Gaijin the Japanese wrestling scene had ever seen
Plus he had an admirable workrate that American crowds never saw.
Britwres died in 1987 after Big Daddy Shirley Crabtree not Kevin Nash was partly responsible for King Kong Kirk's death.
Now tell me, what else happened in 1987 with regards to wrestling? How did it remain popular in the UK, considering WCW never aired there until its dying days in a cut-down format?
