I don't know per se. Maybe came on too strong, or didn't push hard enough, or whatever. Either way, they were sandbagging whenever I tried to get anything out of them re: interests. (There was a lot overlap in terms of the kinks and desires they did have listed on their profile, but their kink list was more or less pretty barebonesy, so I felt it prudent to try and learn more about what they liked so I could lean into it.) Anyway, even though I'm really annoyed now, I've done nothing to state as much. When they stopped replying, I just took it as an answer and promptly unbookmarked them. I was cordial while we were communicating, so it's kinda lame that someone doesn't have the courtesy to just state things outright. If they didn't express mutual interest in the first place, and didn't play a character I clamored for in a way I crave, it wouldn't sting as hard. Got no friends to vent to about this either, so it's gotten kind of stuck in my head. I mean... the truth is that I should expect this kind of stuff. For being a social hobby, a lot of RPers just seem shit-scared to speak their minds, even when gently prompted and coaxed to do so. That knowledge doesn't make it any less disheartening, though.

Oh, yeah. But this person wasn't busy. They just stopped responding and resumed making posts in channels we were both in. If they just went quiet for a bit and then unceremoniously logged out/disconnected, I would just consider it a fluke and try to approach them again next time.
