Gaymin /fit/ness, health and cheapass nutrition thread Anonymous 10/06/2022 (Thu) 04:48:42 Id: 3a2ab7 No. 226
You haven't been touching that soda now, are you? Drink your water, now! Keep your posture straight, keep straightening your back every few minutes because you keep slouching forward. Most importantly get up every half an hour, take a walk, stretch your butt and look outside to unfuck your eyes. Stop ordering crap everyday and make your own meals. Cooking good food is easy and cheap. See pic related, that's the basic foods you need to be healthy. There are many more techniques like keto and shit that you probably don't even need to be healthy. And keep that calories in check.
>>695 I checked out articles online about the supermans exercise but I still can't tell if I'm doing it right. I feel some burn but not too much and I don't know if that's because of my form or because I need to go for longer reps/sets.
>>696 Personally I always rep or hold until failure and aim for a target number to fail at if I am weight training.
>>696 Freeform experimentation is recommended. you don't have to "do it right" immidiately, find what muscles are stressed in 5 minute intervals, don't get discouraged if you don't get it instantly, but don't force it and hurt yourself.

I need to stop drinking so many damn energy drinks but I'm always exhausted at work, which means I should probably fix my sleep first but that's why I'm planning on moving out soon. Anyway, is black coffee the "healthiest" caffeine option for a morning? I used to drink a lot of that but after COVID all the cold brew stuff practically tripled in price.
>>694 I need a starter routine. I also brought that up because my doctor haven't cleared me yet on doing intensive exercises after what happened. It's really traumatic to me.
>>701 >pays someone to put beans in his water uh
>>280 >Oh god I haven't seen that girl in over 10 years now Imagine how much worse she must look now.
>>701 Black is good because sugar is bad. Milk is probably fine depending on your dairy consumption goals. Creamer usually has a lot of calories, though, so be careful about half-and-half or whatever else. There's also some controversy over whether drip coffee is healthier because it removes some bad components or if it's worse for you than espresso because it removes good components so maybe do some research into that. >>696 Soreness is a poor indicator of a good workout. Just make sure you are doing the form correctly. Ensure both your head and shoulders are moving up and down in a full range of motion and so are your legs. Feel the muscle that are contracting. Record how many sets and reps you do and if you think it's too easy then try adding to either, slowly, until your lower back muscles start failing. >>702 Get cleared from your doctor first, Anon. I don't want to tell you to do something and it causes your other testicle to explode. If you need somewhere to start, you can always do a little bodyweight. It's hard to hurt yourself doing that, and there's modifications to each exercise if you can't do them the "normal" way (girl push-ups, wall push-ups, different types of dips, etc). If you are cleared for, and comfortable with, using weight then just do a workout that consists of Legs, Back, Chest, Shoulder, Core in that order. Change the exercise a little every day of the week you go. For example, Goblet Squat, Bent Over Row, Bench Press, Shoulder Press, Chrunches on one day, and then Box Squats, Incline Row, Incline Bench, Shrugs, and Supermans for the second. You can keep rotating in different exercises to change things up. It's not a bad way to sample a bunch of options and get back into it. After a couple months you'll want to look for a "real" program.

I'm not sure if anyone ever noticed, but Nintendo found a way to casualize Wii Fit when they brought it to the Wii U. It's nothing really explicit, but it's in the details. For example, the interface is designed more like some internet portal rather than a fitness application, the different "exercise" rooms no longer exist and are replaced by some white endless void, exercise routines can now be nothing more than a series of games, and balance board detection is far more precise in the original Wii program. Seriously, how do you find a casualize a fucking fitness application?
>>335 >No amount of bench press is going to magically make you look shredded and huge. The notion that lifting makes you look big and muscular comes from the fact we're exposed to roided out cheaters in the media and online. Most people will barely see a body composition difference without going above and beyond with their diet and protein intake while lifting heavily for years. is that why I'm still scrawny despite lifting for over a year now?
>>707 Depends on how you've been lifting, intensity, frequency, routine, etc. But ultimately most of it is just going to be genetics. Most people don't want to say that or admit that for a number of reasons. It's demotivating, and it's also a good excuse to never bother trying because you'll never look like cheating faggots that lie about the gear they're on. In order for people with average genetics to get an impressive build it requires a lot of work, and a lot of time. It requires you to be constantly getting proper protein intake and not having periods where you fuck up and don't eat properly or exercise consistently. And all of these autistic optimizations will still only give you a couple % improvement on your appearance. But it's worth it just to spite cheating faggots that will die in their 50's. Lifting is a marathon, not a sprint.
I sprained my neck or something so I took off most of July to let that heal up. But now I'm fat again and probably lost all my running stamina, so I'm starting fresh again! Bumping the thread! Hope you fuckers were still working!
Been working my delts and arms for half a year now, looking juicy. Might start powerlifting again, or atleast do some proper lifts. Definitely not squatting ever again, my legs are still massive from almost a decade ago >>709 Shit I also sprained my neck/back/rotator cuff. Still feel it after a week. Its definitely bad posture related. I need to start doing heavy ass deadlifts again >>707 1 year is nothing.
Any fun exercise games for PC that do not require special extra equipment or cameras?
>>711 It's going to be tough if you do not want to buy anything. Just Dance Now is the only one that I know of, assuming you already have a smartphone to use as a controller. You will need to buy some hardware for most other fitness games. Almost all fitness games on PC that I know of are reliant on VR. Emulating Wii games and using the nunchuck wiimote is probably the least expensive. Wii controllers and their knockoffs are still pretty cheap. Same goes for wii fit balance boards and other Wii Fit and Mario Tennis peripherals. Stepmania, a free Dance Dance Revolution-like game, is another option. The cost largely depends on the mat you will get. It can be cheaper than emulating wii. StepMania - USB Soft Pad mats are pretty cheap (about $30) and good for beginners. Only catch is that you might need to use some tape to make sure it stays in place when you play. If you want to upgrade, L-TEK has good mats in different prices and are the go to for most people due to bang for the buck and availability. Prices are in Euros and it will cost you couple hundred dollars for one of their mats or pads. If you are into DIY and have some tools, you could even build your own mat. Be careful. Some people go down the rabbit hole eventually and end up springing $1.5k for high end mats. Or even more for original DDR arcade cabinets and cables.
>>295 >Then it's funny how everyone stopped smoking when authorities acknowledged that it was bad for you and shortened your lifespan, even though many people liked it. No, people stopped smoking because the government taxed the snot out of it. Some reason why alcohol drinking are going down despite liquor not being tied to any medical issue.
And, I just realized this thread never actually talked about exercising. Just about how people should make their own foods more often and stop eating so much processed shit. The closest it comes to exercise recommendations is just infographs about running and planking. However, it's a little useless to have those without any context complaining when or why you would do these exercises. I know exercising doing any exercise at all, is better than doing no exercise, but it's also a little pointless if jogging for an hour every day is going to give you the same benefits as swinging your arms shaking a Wiimote for the same amount of time. <Just go to Darebee Have you seen the amount of workout routines on that site? In addition, it still doesn't answer the question of where do people start. Have you guys been lying to me?!?
>>714 >And, I just realized this thread never actually talked about exercising Sounds like you're retarded and can't read. There's plenty of talk about exercise ITT. >The closest it comes to exercise recommendations is just infographs about running and planking. Two exercises. What do you want people to talk about? <hey guys I brought the bar down to my chest, then I pushed it back up, pretty crazy? People talk about diet because diets are complicated. Compound movements are not complicated. Machine movements are even less complicated. You just fatigue the muscle, there is little to discuss. >but it's also a little pointless if jogging for an hour every day is going to give you the same benefits as swinging your arms shaking a Wiimote for the same amount of time. They won't. Jogging is a completely different movement. You jog if you want to get better are jogging. You play Wii if you're retarded and have deluded yourself into thinking you can lose weight by burning calories instead of eating less. >In addition, it still doesn't answer the question of where do people start. Are you asking for an exercise routine? That is dependent on the individual, their body, their schedule, their budget, what they enjoy, what they have access to, and what their goals are. Someone with a fucked up back probably shouldn't be doing deadlifts. Someone who is 300lbs probably shouldn't be jogging.
>>713 >despite liquor not being tied to any medical issue. As long as you don't have a liver or brain.
>>714 >it still doesn't answer the question of where do people start. I gitchu homie. I'll never stop shilling this, it's a good starting point if you don't wanna start going to the gym right away and it'll help you even if you decide to stick to calisthenics. Just don't be a fag about it.

Hey mates, if you feel like discussing about /fit/ related topics, I just recently gained ownership of the board >>>/fit/ and I could really use some help in giving it a bit of life.
I think I injured my rotator cuff. What exercises are safe to do until it heals and how long will it take to heal completely? I don't think it's torn but it still hurts every now and then, seemingly at random. I just started getting big pecs and biceps; I don't want to lose them already.
>>712 Thanks for the info. >>718 I'll make some posts.
>>719 Avoiding further injury will result in the most gains long term.
>>721 This also includes emotional injury, if you are cruel and self deprecating then celebrating and acknowledging your victories, no matter how small, will be very difficult and will make it harder for you to lock-on to a disciplinary schedule. A strong mental fort requires a solid basis, because if your internal foundation is shaky, then it will simply collapse like a house of cards.
I have been having difficulties breathing as of late. I stopped going to the gym about 3 or 4 months and been working with code a lot lately. It seems like I don't take the necessary amounts of air with each inhale and sometimes I take deep breaths where I just sound like the regenerator of RE4. My sister mentions this constantly when I talk to her, I always take those breaths that seem like an allegory for bad things to happen when I am talking to her and I am lacking air, but just now I decided to start taking action against it because it has been getting more pronounced, especially in my chest. I decided to go for a jog just a while ago but besides that I do not know what else to do. pls help
>>723 Go to the vet, retard
>>723 this better be bait, you dumb fucking nigger sprinkling a bit of light cardio on fucked-up lungs ain't gonna do shit
>>725 I also got blood pressure of 138/93
>>723 You aren't conveying any useful information. If you're struggling to breath because you are obese then lose weight by dieting (eating less food). If you're struggling to breath while being at a relatively normal weight then go to the doctor. Running is not going to make you breath normally. How much do you weigh?
>>727 >How much do you weigh? I have always had a weight above 220 pounds. Right now I weight 230. I'm 5' 10'' if that means something
>>728 You should lose weight but also see a doctor. If you aren't breathing properly while awake then I'd assume you're also suffering from sleep apnea which is slowly killing you.
Temporarily pinning this waiting for the move (it was literally on the edge of the catalog)
