Death and Taxes in a Libertarian/Minarchist Community Anonymous 10/27/2021 (Wed) 04:13:21 Id: e23c79 No. 4675
Let's discuss taxation, its legitimacy or lack thereof, and ways to keep what public servants that may exist in a freer society accountable. Minarchism and Libertarianism are both anti-statist ideologies but they still hinge somewhat on the presence of, if little else, a system of courts where conflicts between citizens are arbitrated-and this arrangement necessitates presence of full time employees. Is it possible to have zero taxes and if not, what would be the most ethical means of procurement and distribution be?

Assuming, rightly or wrongly, the inevitability of taxes rather than their complete abolition, would a nationalized "Crowd Funding"-inspired service be a superior option to current modes of taxation and how would that work? What about taxes on consumption? I think zero taxes are a little idealistic, but the current apparatus that is so rife with grift has absolutely got to go, to say nothing about the proposals of our Marxist friends that-if not taxes themselves-that state control be greatly expanded based solely on their childish understanding of current economic conditions.
You know a country is rigged when the government forces you to buy products, gives bailouts to companies, and uses regulations to prevent you from starting a business.
>>4689 This is true, and lest we forget they'd also recently made it impossible to patronize small businesses for an entire year, intentionally and knowingly destroying a large swathe of them in the process (because funneling the same number of people into a smaller surface area with shorter operating hours is so much better for "pandemic" outcomes, right?).
Those who say that they hate the elites sound like hypocrites when they turn around and say that the globalists must be obeyed.
