http://youtu.be/PrtWG6YdNtg I served in the navy at Pearl Harbor for a while. I'm from Connecticut so the weather and atmosphere of Hawaii was incredible to me.
I also began to have an appreciate the music of Hawaii during my time there. It just suits the island so well, and is the perfect thing to listen to when you want to relax on the beach.

Let's post some music from Hawaii and other pacific locations

Life always slips by, it doesn't really matter what makes you happy, whether it's gaining influence or amassing wealth, you're always left with a sense that other people could have lived your life way better than you did.

Even the people that you look up to have that same clumsiness, that same wish for perfection sticking to the back of their skulls. You might even say that the dissatisfied someone is with their lives, the harder they probably worked in order to have other people look up to them. The celebrity phenomenon in our civilization stems from idolatry, the pretense that something or someone can be perfect, outside of the laws of nature that you are subjected to, you imperfect being, you.

Some people basically lie about perfection being real, because of their own wishful thinking and pursuit of perfection and transcendence. You realize this but you wonder if lying would actually make you happier, because you'd be coasting on other people's dreams instead of stomping your own into the ground.

Your brain probably ages slower than your body, being grown up only means being confident. Why do you respect confidence, though, when you know that its just a social game of pretend?

Happiness and life are two separate things. Society creates happiness, whereas life creates society through our own sentiments of imperfection.
In my mind, letting go of perfection is a happier life.
I didn't come to /tikilounge/ to feel these feels.

You worry too much about things that don't matter. :^) What matters is trying new things. You either succeed or you mess up and learn from it. Most people just fuck around (^: I think most great inventors, leaders and artists simply thought "hey, let's try this dumb shit" and succeeded. Once they got good at it they grew passionate, and willing to dedicate their lives to it. Stop worrying so much about status, just fuck around, see where the wind and the waves take you :^) Don't value idols, don't blindly follow any advice, nobody really knows what they're doing, and there's a certain reassuring charm to that. Everything can be tried, appreciate failure as a life experience and a fun, awkward story to tell to other mahu around the campfire. :^) Take care, blue balled mahu!

is this one of those weird taxidermy death fetish things or are they alive
>>652
They look alive to me

What always creeps me out about fetishfags is how they portray the people submitted to their fetish, like they're jokingly irritated.
The fact that some people see other's sexualized suffering as humorous and temporarily bearable, like the equivalent of giving someone a wet finger in the ear, is probably the underlying mental process behind severe abuse.

Greetings from /k/ and /balk/. Who else wearing a Hawaiian shirt here?
4 posts and 5 images omitted.
I think I will wear one in the summer in the U.K. It would look very odd but I don't care. Are there any tips for the types of shirts?
>>611
I recommend a slim-fitting Hawaiian shirt with cargo shorts for wallet+phone, then either boat shoes or flip flops. You cant overthink summerwear
Where the fuck do you even buy those things?
I've been to hell and back trying to find stores that sell them, but to no avail.
I bought one four years ago in a fashion store that has since disappeared.
I need more though. One is not enough. I need enough to wear a different hawaii shirt every day of the week.

do polynesian tribes that included anthropophagy on their diet really needed to do so to survive because of the lack of red meat on their islands?
No.
They could have eaten fish as a replacement.
In fact, red meat isn't necessary in a diet at all, you can survive without it if you eat a lot of legumes instead.
I don't know if any beans grow on any oceanic island, but still they could have been fine with just fish.
If we started eating eachother, what type of person would be the most delicious?

Im going with eating high-end cooks and the rich people they cook for. Delicious organic-fed human.

Flaubert wrote about his experiment cooking meat from fresh cadavers that he got at some morgue in paris. He described it as stringy sweet beef. Probably didn't marinade it worth a shit imo
