Hawaiian shirts Mahu 12/01/2014 (Mon) 04:50:00 No. 35 [Reply]
Hawaiian shirts are kind of tiki-related, right?

Does anyone else fucking love hawaiian shirts? I have a big collection of hawaiian shirts and they're practically all I wear during summer. They're so damn cheerful and obnoxious.

Pic related, me right now.

I bought one of these from them in 5XL tall, and it's been perfect. It's easily my new favorite shirt.

I wish they had one in a video game pattern or something, though!
>>360
That one's neat as fuck

shame the creature of the black lagoon ain't on it though )^:

He don't get no respect, I tell ya.

Is it legal to own a midget? Owning a mini me has always been a dream of mine, ever since I saw Ricardo Montoblan own one in Fantasy Island.

Also, if you were a guest on Fantasy Island, what would your fantasy be?
I'm pretty sure (pre-colonial) slavery was common in the pacific :^)

I'd have to look that up

/v/ here.
What are you nigs offering.
How much is a night.
I'm planing on taking my daughter and my old brother for some time.
For some reason this board really gives me a Web 2.0 feel. Probably because of the gifs.
>>348
are you sure you don't mean web 1.0? This board needs a "construction in progress" GIF to complete the look

We are offering
>free cocktails :^)
>a tropical oceanic setting :^)
>dancing hula girls
>relaxation and fun

Also, it's great to hear you want to bring your daughter!
Maybe our board-tan Tikina could teach her how to do the hula :^)

Trips for the GOAT player on the GOAT board.
Congratulations /sp/! :^)

It would have been more impressive on a faster board, but you did it champ :^)

Here's your free cocktail

I've been dealing with a bunch of metawhiners and board drama today.

Last week was great, but this week is wearing on me.

I need a drink.

Here you go, mahu :^)

Are you the mahu that posted his hotpocket-related grievances here earlier?

Anywho, tell them mai nana i ka 'ulu o waho, 'a'ohe ia nau; e nana no i ka 'ulu i ke alo, nau ia.
Never mind looking at the breadfruit away out, that is not for you; look at the breadfruit in front of you, that is yours.

And if they still complain, tell them mai 'olelo i ke kuapu'u e ku pololei, o hina auane'i.
Don't tell the hunchback to stand up straight lest he fall down.
They shouldn't criticize the ways of others, unless they comprehend the situation :^)

Or a not-so-Hawaiian quote:
"It takes less courage to criticize the decisions of others than to stand by your own." -Atilla the Hun

Anyways, being a chieftain on 8chan ain't easy :^)
Take it easy and relax, mahu (^:

I think I've seen that happen before. No idea why that happens!

so quiet
If I could just be a NEET instead of working all the time, I could remember to post EVERY DAY.

It's peaceful here.

Like I don't need to worry about any niggers.

Well, Melanesians, Aboriginals and other dark-skinned Oceanic peoples are indeed genetically different from Africans. :^)

Dark Africans are genetically closer to Caucasians than to Dark Oceanic peoples. (^:

>Pic related, they're Papua. Genetically speaking, not even close to Africans.

On another note, the board-activity went down after the Lizard Squad attacked 8chan.

I'm afraid we need to rebuild our island, with more posts and human sacrifice (^:
I promise I will be more active myself! But without you, my fellow tribesmen, it will just look like an old lonely mahu samefagging in a dead board

WE MUST UNITE THE TRIBE AND CONQUER THE OCEANS :^)
May Kauhuhu, the shark-god of Molokai, bless us during our recovery!

Good morning, /tikilounge/. You fine chaps helped me out when I was looking for a stylesheet for my board, so in return, I'd like to invite you to check out:
>>>/8lounge/

The "8" Lounge is a lounge for users who can create and discuss random and interesting content, somewhat like a fancy /b/. Tikiing is, of course, welcome as well.

>I also gave you gentlemen your own flag, "Tiki Tribesman"

Dashboard hula girls Mahu 12/16/2014 (Tue) 02:51:18 No. 248 [Reply]
So this place has ended up reviving my love of all things tiki. Look what I just ordered: http://www.myriahsbazaar.com/4-UKULELE-GIRL-DASHBOARD-DOLL-p/s691j.htm

It'll take anywhere from 6 to 14 days to arrive here in Australia. I'll be sure to take pics of her stood on my dashboard for /tikilounge/ when she arrives!

Board owner what do you think of this? I can't quite get the New Reply button to look how I want… but it's neat yes?

That's a beautiful post field and I wish to steal it for my own board. I'd fix the new topic button though.

But I appreciate your enthusiasm

Tiki is a mythological figure recurring in several Polynesian cultures :^)
According to the Maori he was the first man, but he has also been described as the first man who died a natural death back when humans were still immortal :^)

In the 50s, Polynesian art and culture gained a lot of popularity in the USA, and a lot of Polynesia-inspired kitsch was made.
This was called "Tiki culture", named after the legendary figure Tiki. :^)

The figures in your picture are technically not Tikis. They are Moai statues from Rapa Nui (Easter Island).
The Rapa Nui built them to honor their ancestors, and went through tremendous lengths to construct and erect these statues.
At some point, every tree in Rapa Nui was cut down, merely to transport and erect these giant Moai statues.
Birds would stop going to the island because of that, and the Rapa Nui did not have any wood to make canoes and go fishing.
So the people had no meat. A great famine took place, everyone went mad, civilization collapsed.
A big apocalyptic chaos of desperation, fury and confusion took place. They destroyed several of the statues, and started killing and eating each other. :^)

It was like Make-Make, the god of the Birdman Cult, had abandoned His followers. :'^(

I got a coin from a friend who went on vacation to Fiji.
>you have friends who buy you solid silver coins as vacation souvenirs
Lucky lucky.

I was thinking of getting one of those coins for my small stash of precious metals, purely because I like the turtle design.
