I remember people sharing their ideas for a fangame last thread on kdg before it died. I want to elaborate on my whole idea for a King Dedede focused CIV styled strategy game.
>Takes place some time before Kirby's Adventure but after Dream Land
>Has the narrative theme and explanation as to how King Dedede either made friends or subordinates out of the Adventure Bosses that he eventually shares pieces of the Star Rod with and how King Dedede increasingly gains territory for his self-proclaimed kingship of Dream Land.
>Gameplay has you multi-task as you manage both the domestic and offensive aspects of your take over of Dream Land
>You grow your Waddle Dee army and troops. Depending on how well you train them up as a whole or how many you have you can win against bosses by sheer numbers or by the strength of your Waddle Dees.
>Depending on what you focus on you can increase the strength, happiness, loyalty, fear, etc. of your Waddle Dees and other enemies.
>Depending on the previous attributes you can further increase the quality and amounts of things like food, weapons, your own castles/structures, etc. Though, I like the idea of the castles/structures being a final reward for each boss or area cleared.
>You can even add mid-bosses and other enemies to your ranks as you progress through the game. For example, Kracko will earn you Waddle Doos to add to your forces.
>Different endings depending on how selfish King Dedede is, how he treats his army and minions, and how you get the different bosses to join your side either through gaining their trust and loyalty or beating them into submission.
