This thread is for the discussion of anything related to the management or future of /fringe/
>>7434 >a new BO or an extra janny Neither, that's a global mod. The spammer probably spammed the whole site. Restored and merged it with >>6663 in case anyone cares.
>>7437 >The spammer probably spammed the whole site. It seems it was not removed from /x/. Poor board has 1 post/month that makes them treasure every post they can get. >in case anyone cares I care. Now that the 4 Internet Truths have been penned, I can link it for the spammer the next time he returns. These fools think they are the only ones that can mix ancient teachings with dumb memes for their own benefit. Meme magic is all about finding the sweat spot between complete seriousness and absolute mind rot tier retardation while putting a veil of sincerity upon it. I still wanted him to spill the beans how deep he is in Theravada. For some strange reason I enjoy interrogating cultists.

>/fringe/ in the top boards again Not so /fringe/ now, are you? :^)
I can't post oekaki right now because .pngs are disabled due to the CP spammer, but now I can't upload a .jpg version of oekaki either. What gives?

Test.
>>7999 JPEG seems to work, but if you use the clipboard and paste it, it turns into a PNG from what I've seen.
Okay I was able to get around the oekaki limitation not by simply taking the oekaki file and replacing its extension with .jpg, but I had to take a picture of it with snipping tool and save that as a .jpg directly.

Please bring back the forest background in /fringe/. I don't like this new background.
>>8233 >I don't like this new background. Too bad. This is /fringe/ now. It's the whole site and it's temporary. Pick Board CSS in the dropdown menu
>>8233 >>8234 Penumbra look good on /fringe/ >Also Happy birthday (7 years) to Loli Refugiada 😭
>>8249 Should we start a Santa Muerte thread for the beaners of fringe?
>>8252 I dont know. "Santa muerte" i think is Mexican. "San la muerte" is Argentinian (and there exist others with other name or little motifs on Uruguay, Paraguay, etc) I dont pray or call to Popular Saints (Santos Populares) >Penumbra I talking about the CSS. Penunbra Aesthetic colors look good here.

Let's talk about threads. So basically, we have /awakening general/ which is the free for all schizo blog, then we have /blog/ which is normal magic blogging, then we have /intrusive thoughts/ which is rageblogging and random. Now it was suggested to add /serious elite blog/ ? I get that different types of postings need different threads, but how many layers of blogs do we need? Not a criticism, just wondering what kinds of threads are needed, for what, and how to separate them.
(44.93 KB 500x213 I don't know.jpg)

>>8285 >how many layers of blogs do we need? dunno >just wondering what kinds of threads are needed, for what, and how to separate them. Depends on the posters. I don't think we should make a serious blog thread currently. It can wait until we reach the next stage of /fringe/. Don't know what it will be or when. We will know once we are there. For a functioning fringe we need posters that are willing to engage with the site. If we have neophytes asking dump shit we need experienced initiates or adepts that explain things. If we have adept level discussions they usually need a thread because people without open third eyes and without any experience in occultism will get scared or call it a larp in best case scenario. When we have several people going through psychotic breakdowns the thread structure doesn't matter because not many will follow it until a mod steps in. I think we are exiting from the inconsistent /blog/ era in the coming months. Slowly but surely topical threads might arise. And I didn't mean that the blog should be "elite". I meant that it should be like telling a singular self contained story and a "sub blog" thread where you can ask questions about that story via cross thread reply. Like if someone has a channeling or an occult experience or notices a greater pattern in his life that aids his magic he just writes it and if anyone has a question he can ask in in the other thread while linking the thread. Some things that make complete sense during the channeling might make no sense once someone starts analyzing it. Especially for those that are not familiar with the entities or tradition that the channeling originated from. And posts like anon telling how he meditates because he cannot sleep is also a valid way to post in the main blog thread. But if the discussion turns to ask why anon cannot sleep or what were his experiences during his meditation then it deserves a different thread. This way blog posts can stay as inspirational or educating blog posts instead of "bunch of schizos talking general". Once someone asks into a self contained story it turns into a continuous reply fest that might derail the thread. Currently we have almost 2000 posts in only /blog/ alone. No sane person will read through that. The spirit of fringe is that we try to make useful threads and expect newfags to try to read through them. Reading through the blog thread is not very feasible right now. It became a mix of awakening general and intrusive thoughts. It wasn't meant to be a middle road between the 2 threads but that is how it happened. But let's keep going the current route for now. No need to stress over it currently. This was just a mere observation on my part. How we can improve the flow of conversation later on. Sometimes everything falls into place. That is how real magic manifests. And stressing over details can cockblock that. No need to do that now. That is why I posted the "keep calm and blog on" pic. I didn't want to cause a disturbance in the force
>>8288 I know this isn't the exact same thing, but I found the organization of the discord server linked to this site (see menu) https://japari-library.com/wiki/Main_Page to have a very usefully adapted autistic system for how to handle different types of discussions. It's very much based around respecting each others, such as not having "focused discussion" in the "cafe" channel, not posting random memes in the discussion channel, and different rather complex rules overall for how to behave. I'm aware this doesn't really work on most imageboards, but it did work on old meguca/a/ and the even more obscure daijoubu/bun/ where even slightly offensive (to the community) behaviour was bannable simply because those who belong know the culture and can avoid things that are off-putting to that group, while which for outsiders look nonsensical. Example of this would be how they had /ftb/, "fapping together board", a board version of a recurring 4chan/trash/ thread /ftt/ which may still be around, the 4chan thread does not allow loli, so they are then directed to meguca, and despite the whole theme of the board being offensive to most people (or not? ERP where men pretend to be lesbians may seem quite mainstream today, but it wasn't then), it wasn't offensive by meguca standards. Posting about gamergate was bannable however, as well as a number of other seemingly normal topics.
>>8290 Overly complex rules systems like this usually just exist as a pretext for power-tripping mods to play hall monitor.
>>8290 >Example If anyone cares about obscure boards, I realized most of these have been restored, at least they exist again. A year ago at least half of these URLs weren't active. https://shamik.ooo/ https://daijoubu.org/ https://doushio.com/ https://tanoshiine.info/radio/ A warning that people are not very nice on these boards, some of them are shotacons and they may bully you.
