Is it a hot take that I think all the characters in this show are assholes?

>>55925 According to Dwayne McDuffie they had originally planned a crossover episode with Teen Titans in Static Shock which is why the episode of Static Shock Hard as Nails has Batman comment that Robin is with the Titans when asked where he is. The reason this didn't happen was out of concern that the crossover episode airing before the premiere of Teen Titans as its own series so they instead went with a Justice League crossover when someone from the studio suggested it. There's about six months between that episode's initial air date and Teen Titans premiering. https://jl.popgeeks.com/episodeA/episodeA.htm I know Static Shock was retconned into the DCAU after the first season since early episodes from the first season reference Superman as if he's fictional and characters talking like super powers aren't already a fairly common thing everyone knows about. I don't think there's really much reason the original Teen Titans cartoon couldn't be part of the DCAU. The only real contradiction I can think of is the various implications and references that the Teen Titans version is Dick Grayson who was already Nightwing by the time the series would take place in DCAU's timeline. They never directly say he's Dick Grayson that I recall and the only reference I can immediately think of is Robin's interdimensional counterpart's, Larry, real name being Dick Grayson backwards. A crossover would work with very little retconning needed because of that. The only real issue with the Teen Titans Robin being Tim Drake is it means eventually he gets tortured by the Joker sometime after that series and retires from super heroics because of the trauma and that's more that it would just be much darker and serious fate for him than anything in the Teen Titans cartoon.
>>55930 And yeah the episode How Long is Forever? shows Robin as being Nightwing in the future, but it would be easy to explain that as temporal butterflies from Starfire's disappearance causing an alternate timeline where Tim Drake didn't get traumatized from getting tortured then personally killing the Joker and eventually took on the mantle from Dick Grayson. Actually that could make a decent fanfic of Starfire, and possibly the other Titans, finding out that the Robin she knows only becomes Nightwing in the alternate future she visited where she was gone for twenty years. It could be interesting, if tragic, for her to see the Batman Beyond version of Robin that's a communications engineer with PTSD who gets possessed by a microchip the original Joker planted in him to become the new Joker.
>>55925 >>55930 >>55931 Honestly, it's better to leave it as it's own thing rather than trying to force them all to co-exist. I take it that people don't remember how, while TT and JLU were airing, you also had The Batman, Krypto, and LoS also broadcasting at the same time, sometimes even on the same channel.

Seeing how RWBY is getting an adaption, the number of Japanese fanart for Adventure Time is still going along with some indie comics getting a lot of art and that one Nick fighting game briefly topping becoming a decent seller in Japan. How rare are westaboos nowadays?

>>43333 This is so cool. It's worth noting Hiroyuki Imashi has released quite a few doujinshi showcasing his westaboo fanarts for everything from extreme dinosaurs to umbrella academy. There are more recent publications where alot of his capeshit pieces are prominent too. Likewise with Yoshinari, though he nuked his dA years ago and I have no clue where he posts now. Plenty of japanese PPG doujin also exist but sadly alot of them have pornographic bents to them. One page will showcase some of the coolest fan art you'll ever see and the very next will be hardcore NSFW of the girls. The japanese are a quirky bunch like that :(

Homestuck General #3: Aranea is for cosplaying as her Edition Anonymous 07/24/2025 (Thu) 15:03:54 No. 54657 [Reply] [Last]
HOMESTUCK THREAD! This is 8chan dot moe, we can have them here, unlike BOTchan's /co/, that keeps nuking them, in the longest and most ridiculous secret rule of the site still implemented to this day, legends say it is some Gay Janitor's decade old vendetta. Make sure to read the board rules. Discuss how good homestuck was at its peak, how soulfull Act 5 was back in the day, the absolute embarrassed disaster that is post-canon, how Toby Fox is a total faggot who steals music and how like his music his characters are mostly bad remixes of Homestuck's characters (success =/= deserved), ships, fanfics, etc. You can also discuss other MSpaint comics like Problem Sleuth, and other HS-Related content. The "/hsg/" Original Posts were all around a single sentence long, but here we are looking for something else, real and long discussions with arguments plus the shitpost (but not limited to just one or the other) and all the fun 2011-2012 internet shit, hopefully this enough of an effortpost. Feel free to suggest what should be included in the next one. We've started a homestuck read-along here: >>53588 >What about megidochan? Their /hsg/ aren't really about homestuck at all. its just a glorified /b/ that occassionally posts homestuck reaction images. If you want to make those kinds of posts, then by all means go there, several of the recent Halfchan/co/'s threads were actually on-topic especially when it comes correctly criticize Hussie and Homestuck 2, with a fair amount of effort posts in them as well. If nothing else, it can be comfy in an odd way to talk about how badly homestuck went off the rails with peers. HOWEVER, TO BE FAIR. Megidochan did get a strictly "on topic" board (/hot/) upon user request, to actually talk about Hussie and Homestuck because Megido's own users got fed up with how derivative the site had become. Not that it's too relevant since that board is INCREDIBLY SLOW, don't use it lol, even Megidomin came here to say that appreciates the anti-shill vibes from 8chan's /co/. Still, I mention it to tell things as they are (Just a footnote, in case something happens to 8chan we can organize there to discuss what to do). Also this serves as a place for homestuck-related posts that don't deserve their own thread, which would be 90% of them. >How do I read homestuck? Not through the official website since its broken.

Who wants to read an autists webcomic? A John Stewart fanboy got so butthurt at DC that he made his own Green Lantern knock-off. How bad could it be? I made a thread for it back on 8ch where I sarcastically called it a masterpiece and the creator thought I was serious. He even made an image with the quote on it.

Danish Toon ‘Apple Hills’ Goes Global with Cartoon Network on YouTube https://archive.fo/o4O6t https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33jsfqZT7GE >Apple Hills, the Danish animated hit series produced by Nice Ninja and coproduced with public broadcaster DR, will be launching January 12 on the worldwide Cartoon Network YouTube channel. “Apple Hills is strongly influenced by all the slapstick comedy series that we have grown up with on Cartoon Network. So, we are more than proud that Apple Hills will launch on the Cartoon Network YouTube channel,” said Thomas Borch-Nielsen, producer at Nice Ninja. “I hope that kids around the world will enjoy Trafalgar and Pulver’s crazy adventures as much as we have while animating them.” >The deal with Warner Bros. Discovery was signed by Meta Media Entertainment, the worldwide exclusive distributor of Apple Hills and follows the successful launch of Season 1 (20 x 5’) of the series in Denmark last year. >Apple Hills was launched on DR in September 2023 and became the third-ranking kids show in Denmark within six weeks. Within the first month of launching on DR’s Kid VOD platform Ramasjang, the series was watched 6.5 million times, which is equivalent to every Danish kid in the target group 5-10 years watching each episode more than once. Season 2 of Apple Hills (20 x 6’) is in production and will be delivered in Q1 2025. >Apple Hills is a small town. In fact, it’s so small and insignificant, it has been removed from Google Maps. The only thing that stands out is a polluting concrete factory. But if you look closely, you will discover two small kids Trafalgar and Pulver. They are experts at surviving boredom since their solutions to everyday relatable problems often take a wild and unpredictable turn for the worse!

>>43457 >>55236 >>55237 >>55238 lel, these are actually pretty funny and charming. They remind me a lot of those cartoons that'd get picked up on Nick 2 or aired in between actual network shows. The animation's also actually pretty enjoyable even if the style is really simple.

New Season of Totally Spies Anonymous 01/12/2022 (Wed) 08:46:53 No. 22041 [Reply] [Last]
https://archive.ph/gaF0o Show was fun (despite having basicly no pantsu for all the fetish material it had), but I have no hope for this. I'm fine with shows getting a finale later to finish off all the orphened plotlines (Hey Arnold), but Totally Spies had virtually no running plot except maybe their relationship with Mandy (which underwent minor changes at various points) and lasted 6 seasons (so hardly cut short).

Lizzie - forgotten weird Dreamworks cartoon Anonymous 07/22/2025 (Tue) 05:44:07 No. 54447 [Reply]
I have a weird soft spot for Lizzie. It was a cartoon made for a online service nobody used (go90). There were two seasons for a total of 13 episodes, and each was about 4 minutes long. None of the episodes were notable, nor were they particularly good. The last episode was released 8 years ago, and so there's very little discussion of the show currently. There was very little discussion back then as well. (The only reason that it got any at all, was due to the nudity in one of the episodes.) I thought we could come together and remember this mediocre show. Or if you haven't seen it, you can watch the episodes which have been uploaded to youtube in the years since: https://youtu.be/-IIJu21pXNM https://youtu.be/8PRfSimT0bE Also, I have been searching for fan art of this show for a while, but thanks to its generic name, it's hard to find any. If anyone can find any, or has any saved, please post them. What do you think? Did Lizzie deserve more? Or was it really just a mediocre cartoon made to promote a failing service?

The Barbarian and the Troll Anonymous 04/09/2021 (Fri) 00:27:42 No. 11560 [Reply] [Last]
This show is pretty damn good. Better than any other animated show on the US airwaves today. It gets away with more 'adult' humor, and by adult I mean something more along the lines of early Spongebob/Simpsons jokes. It's surprising that Nick picked it up out of all networks, but then I remembered Cartoon Network is trying to appeal to an infant audience since 6-12 year olds don't watch TV anymore. The second episode airs tomorrow but I know this site is too slow to have a live reaction thread. If you happen to catch it on TV or on the Nick website & want to describe your viewing experience, this thread is for you

Hasbro is the "well, we tried" company. They have 2 core brands left & licenses. Of their other brands MASK- relegated to Loyal Subjects for the new toy line MLP- probably dead, might get another shitty reboot no one watches COPS- handed to another toy company that's making 1 figure, so it'll sell like shit & no more get made Jem- see COPS above. 1 new doll in February, nothing since. No new media either for anything, at best the rerun the old shit for these brands. They have not had an original idea in who knows how long. But then again SDCC this year was 99% old shit. No one does new IPs now.
I think Jem fails to resonate with new audiences for reasons >Stuck in the 80s. Onky the 80s kids can relate to the setting >Rich person with advanced tech, no one can be her Walter White does the alter ego better, he's more relatable. Anyone could go down his path. Heisenberg could be anyone. He didn't need impossible tech. Besides Jem never had moments like this because she's a doormat who let a whiny bitch & a creepy German sexual predator walk all over her https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0KgYo96BpM

>>55062 >They have not had an original idea in who knows how long. To be fair, they don't "need" an original idea. A lot of Hasbro's properties is basically a license to print money, but the people in charge of the company are more focussed on pushing their politics. With everything from wheel-chair orcs in D&D to genderfluid robots in Transformers. But then again, I cannot exactly blame them when a third of the company is unironically and literally owned by Vanguard, BlackRock, and Capital Group. >>55063 >Rich person with advanced tech, no one can be her Wouldn't Jem actually sort of "work" in the modern day with the advent of vtubers and AI? Especially since all you need anymore is a halfway decent computer that will run Stable Diffusion, a Kinect that you can get off of Mercari or eBay for $20, and access to the internet.

Shows for girls? Anonymous 11/04/2022 (Fri) 02:08:44 No. 30272 [Reply]
I decided to watch As Told by Ginger since I never watched it as a kid, and I was surprised about how good it actually was. I usually didn't like the Klasky Csupo stuff, I thought Rocket Power to be boring as fuck, even as a kid and Tween Rugrats just good for fap material. But ATbG is genuinely good, like this is The Boondocks for white tween girls, nevertheless I always avoided it since I wouldn't be caught dead watching a show for girls. So I started watching more shows for girls, Pepper Ann, and Braceface (Not as good as ATbG imo), same in manga but that's for /a/, again, it can be recency bias, as well as I'm starting with high regarded stuff, but some of this shit is really good. So I asked some women my age about these shows... and no one watched them, they watched those shitty Dan Schneider series for girls or didn't watch shows at all, rather actually starting their social life. Why are people making kino for girls if girls seem to avoid kino altogether. Are there any good shows/episodes originally ignored for being/being marketed for girls? Also, if someone has the lore on Ginger cause second picrel.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned MLAATR, What About Mimi, Atomic Betty, or Sally Bollywood yet. Those all seemed like pretty obvious examples to me. If you're after something more capeshitty there's also Starla and the Jewel Riders aswell as Princess Tenko and the Guardians of the Magic come to mind. Look into 1985's Sweet Sea too. It's sort of like a japanese animated cross of the little mermaid and rainbow brite.
>>31291 Not really. In most cases you had women like Ramona Fradon or Flo Steinberg manning standard boy titles like Aquaman and Metamorpho while guys like JRSR manned the Barbie marvel comic.
