Having just finished the original comic, they did not (mostly). In fact, I slightly prefer the miniseries over the comic since there were some additions that I liked (although it might be better if you know nothing about the franchise). For example, the stew was only made sparingly because everybody fought over Getafix's stew in the flashback from the first episode. Asterix and Obelix have a slight quarrel with each other (Obelix doesn't like it when Asterix speaks for him, especially when Obelix is nervous) but they simply resolve it in the end. There's plenty of brief pop references throughout each episode, along with a few pop songs
Turn Down for What is played to start off that Big Fight that might be a nuisance sometimes. Some new characters were added, like Fastandfurius, his niece Metadata, and Apothika (she's replaces Psychoanalytix in the comic). Caesar wasn't in the comic (neither was his mother), but he gets a good amount of screentime here. There is only one notable sheboon added (Hannabarbera is her name for some reason), but doesn't really affect the story much other than just adding sports commentary to the Big Fight itself. Cleopatra also has a brief cameo appearance. It's not as bad as I thought overall. There was also a 2D short film involving wild boars that was fine.
