How much can a human stomach actually expand? I've seen my fair share of slightly bloated stomachs over the years, bu. t thanksgiving the other day a girl in our group has her belly so distended that she must have looked 6 months pregnant or more. And I am not exaggerating at all, if anything I'm trying to not overstate. When she took a nap on the couch she looked like those lions in doumentaries when they are sitting under a tree digesting prey with a massively distended belly.
And no, she does not have IBS or gluten intolerance or digestive problems. It was literally all food that was pushing her belly out so much. I kind of noticed she was eating lots but did not realise how much until someone commented.
She is young, and thin, maybe something has to do with it, I don't know. But her stomach was distented to an extent that I've never seen before and I didn't think possible. And she didn't seem uncomfortable either, she just woke up and occasionally held a hand on her stomach.
I didn't want to check or stare, as I said she is young so maybe also that's why not too many comments were made aside from a few remarks from her younger brother.
But medical literature says 4 liter is the max I think. Seeing her really made me ask how much a human can pack inside their stomach, really.
