the fact that you think adult media are all like that is pretty telling how juvenile media has become. not that there is no place for juvenile stuff in media, it's just rather annoying when every single one of them mostly are, and pretend that they are indeed 'mature' and 'adult'. while i would indeed agree that hazbin isn't for children, i wouldn't really say it's particularly 'mature'.
i mean, as a bit of an example, Asimov's Foundation novel series (and most Asimov novels in general) are good books i'd say. could be a bit dry, but it explores several interesting ideas. Tropa de Elite is a pretty good movie, if a bit brutal. It does showcase the brutality of the BOPE and the corruption of the cartels.
it's not really so much a matter of snobbery and sophistication so much as realizing that if you want to depict serious stuff without coming off as half-assed, you should actually go read or watch some serious stuff. i mean, it's not like children's media can't depict serious stuff very well, like ATLA or Batman the Animated Series,
