It's used to bring attention to old threads or posts. Sometimes, things get buried and forgotten, so people bump those threads and post up hoping to bring attention to them. Nothing is wrong with bumping as it can help threads gain activity or can help a post, just don't overuse it and don't be a dick.

Making a post in a thread 'bumps' it to the top of the board. Saying 'bump' is a way of signalling you're just lazily trying to revive a thread. Threads have a maximum number of times they can be bumped (bump limit) so it's considered polite to 'sage' your post (makes a post without bumping the thread) if you're just arguing with some fag or otherwise posting irrelevant nonsense.

Jesus, I remember Kphoria's vids when I was 12 back in 2010. I saw this animal planet documentary where a snake ate an antelope, thought it was cool, looked it up on youtube, found out what vore is, found Kphoria's vids, and here I am 14 years later.
