428 Shibuya Scramble's creator is crowdfunding a spiritual successor Anonymous 04/30/2025 (Wed) 17:48:46 Id: 282583 No. 1292049 [Reply]
>428 Shibuya Scramble's Executive Producer, co-director and original scenerio writer Jiro Ishii started crowdfunding for a live-action adventure game where you take control of multiple characters simultaneously taking place on Shibuya >Jiro Ishii once again will serve as producer and original scenario writer >The story will be written by Yukinori Kitajima, who wrote BBK/BRNK, Hamatora and Under the Dog >Game will have Masakazu Arai and Fumio Kitagami (Minoru Minorikawa from 428 Shibuya Scramble) as cast members >Crowdfunding is an "all or nothing" meaning if the game doesn't reach its minimum crowdfunding goal they'll give all the money back >It's important to note that this is the second time Jiro Ishii does a spiritual successor to 428 Shibuya Scramble, back when he was working with Level-5 he served as the producer/original scenario writer for Time Travelers for 3ds which also had similar gameplay to 428 and multiple times it's stated to take place in the same universe >Jiro Ishii is also at the moment serving as the main writer for Depth Loop, the sequel to the visual novel Raging Loop, it was revealed on September last year and it will take place in an underwater facility, other than that no info has been shared Here's the link to the crowdfunding campaign: https://ubgoe.com/projects/923

Here are some of my favorite reactions in the game. I am so happy I finished 428 and the Time Travelers 3DS fan-translation a couple months ago. These aren't spoilers of the game, just avoiding possible spoiling some funny scenes in general.
I don't know why they are using this site instead of kickstarter. But I hope it does well enough.

I haven't seen anyone post about this yet, but I might have missed a few. Valheim but Runescape flavored does seem like it could be an interesting combo. Has anyone played it? How'd you like it? Early Access slop, or worth waiting for the Magic and Ranged trees to get added and more things fleshed out?

Anyone playing this horror mp game? New chapter soon
>>1205850 (OP) I've only played the first game, and I got kind of tired of it by the end so I never checked out the sequel or DLC. I liked the visuals/atmosphere though. Were the other games a noticeable improvement or just more of the same? Also not sure how I feel about MP horror games in general. Most games I tried stopped being scary the moment my friends started being retarded and goofing around which was right at the start.

They keep nerfing champions that use mana. Mobi's should've been buffed, not nerfed. Anyway I've been playing since the start of season 2 and I've gone from Emerald 4 to Emerald 2. Only had one game so far that made me go, "Damn, these players are good". I was playing Taric support, landed a very close flash+stun on a Janna near her tower, Lux and Jinx were rotating but still a quarter of the map away. As soon as I landed the stun, 1 second later, Lux ult, then right after, Jinx ult lands. We got the kill. Had to ask who are you people.

To be honest, it sounds like the developer is sort of replaying the hits. The additional worldbuilding tries to be more in line with Ultrakill or Heaven Will Be Mine in being more faggy and fujopilled (something something toxic yaoi/yuri by way of Tumblr/Twitter), because he got detected by enough social media goblins that he was cribbing straight from MDE and Ferraro and shitcoiners with all the same eye cancer aesthetics. Ironic considering Ferraro got sponsored by Microsoft to do AI slop with a hyperpop meme rapper, and the COM98 game is 100% vaporware.

It's Guild Wars 1's 20th anniversary and the devs dropped the first content update in years just yesterday. Has anyone here been playing? There's also been some community event going on encouraging people to group up together and go through the base came campaign (Prophecies) in the span of a month, focusing on a few different areas every week. https://returntogw1.com/ As someone who started playing very late during its lifespan, I don't think I've ever seen the game so alive. it's nice to be able to find randos to queue for missions with. We could organize something if anyone here's interested in playing through it again.

>>1272779 The current state of necro is sad. They were the best profession for most of the game's run but got nerfed over and over and were at their weakest when it went into maintenance mode. They used to be the best direct damage caster and minion masters used to have no minion cap and a spammable mass regen buff and soul reaping was uncapped. Admittedly overpowered as fuck but also one of the most fun builds ever put in an MMO. You could basically suicide your henchmen into enemies at the start to get corpses then solo steamroll any content, keeping all the drops for yourself.

This is not a "let's bitch about the industry" thread, we have enough of those. Many of these games aren't even necessarily bad, this is more about those games that are huge briefly, then vanish completely. FOTM is the vidya version of a #1 song that's on the charts for a week. Some of these games deserve to be remembered, or at least inspected for why they were so big yet had no staying power. Partially, I'm making this thread because I struggle to remember many of them.

Honestly I never liked this game. Should be the poster child for misleading accessibility. I have no idea why sakurai thinks everything needs to be one button only when the controller has four others on the face and the game has multiple functions. Like doing everything with one button doesn't mean the game has only one mechanic.
As kids, my sister and I would play Kirby Air Ride on the gamecube so much. Unlocked almost everything, surely. Was fun to pick up all the super star pieces and get the epic music. Random events in the city were cool.

Looking for games similar to Fallen London Anonymous 04/24/2025 (Thu) 13:50:19 Id: 4a12da No. 1241339 [Reply] [Last]

>>1287542 Of those three I haven't played Kingdom of Loathing so I can't speak to it, but from all the hours I've put into Cultist Simulator and Sunless Sea I can't see somebody not getting stressed playing them. The only reason I was able to finish this 12+ hour run of CS was using a backed up save when I was killed by a brutal combination of three Fascination cropping up while I was trying to come up with Contentment or Restlessness to clear a challenge timer. Regardless of that, I finished it and have become Long. Now that leaves me to follow through and become a Name, and walk the Mansus properly. >>1285649 I'll try that when I next get back to it.
>>1285649 I've never seen the point in getting the cutter or corvette, it feels like throwing your echoes away for no real gain
>>1288049 Tbh I might just be built different. I don't remember ever getting really frustrated at any game, even playing Dark Souls and Ashen I'd just take a deep breath and go again even after dying several times in a row. So, I'm not exactly the best person to say what is a cozy/relaxing game or not. Still, at least Fallen London at worst requires you to grind for a few items again if you fail at an action. This can take time, but if you got the item once, it's easier to get it again, and so forth.

I played that game the Jewish man shilled It's actually fucking amazing It feels like a natural evolution of Hotline Miami where there's stealth elements added, on True difficulty and above enemies will kill you just as quickly as they do in Hotline Miami but you have noise and light mechanics, which don't just have you avoid detection but actually base the entire combat system on a sort of cat-and-mouse chase between you and the AI. Unless you have low caliber semi-sonic bullets and a good suppressor, enemies will hear you across the map whenever you fire, so you have to constantly reposition in firefights against AI that are always trying to flank, surround or ambush you. But the AI doesn't know exactly where you are, it just knows where it heard the sounds of gunfire coming from, or where radios or other AI told it you are, so if you're fast and sneaky enough even in a gunfight you can take out entire groups of enemies by counter-ambushing their ambushes and rushes This game genuinely has some of the best isometric gun combat I've ever played I also like how customizable everything is, even from early in the game you can make some extremely good guns if you just experiment a little. For example you can turn a otherwise cheap shitty single-shot rifle that you have access to as soon as you can buy guns into a VERY strong sniper rifle, or you can deck out some of the pistols and turn them into basically SMGs or pocket-snipers themselves, making them the equivalent of weapons that would normally take up your primary weapon slot. You can slap a drum mag and auto-fire onto a semiauto shotgun and make an absolute street-sweeper, you can deck out early SMGs with scopes and longer barrels and turn them into a marksman rifle. It's great The actual stealth is really good too, on the True difficulty AI are very responsive to anything you do so, for example, if they notice a patrolling guard go missing they'll start searching the level for you even if they never see a body. There's a variety of devices you can buy for either stealth or loud gameplay but they have very limited uses per level, usually not more than 2-4, so you have to make them count. There's vents, windows, interactive light sources etc. everywhere to the point it feels like an isometric Splinter Cell game if you're going pure stealth The music is pretty good too. It's not as good as Hotline Miami, but it's good. There's different tracks for different levels of alertness, and a decent selection of music. The combat music is really good imo, it's fast paced and pumped up, it's fun to listen to. It's also nice to know in stealth if an enemy is searching for you because the music suddenly gets more tense And the game's replay ability is phenomenal because there's a ton of levels, a branching storyline, and the way you approach each level changes completely if you dedicate yourself fully to stealth or to combat I really like this game, I highly recommend it

>>1248529 And not only doors. Sometimes they'll bunch up and swarm you from multiple directions, and that's a pain. And sometimes they'll just make a conga line while you mow them down. Related is quite literally the entire level that attempted to enter that room. I especially love it how they can spot missing patrols thru several walls on occasion. Practice with EDF served me well in those trying times.
>>1206528 (OP) So, just finished both campaigns in one go on true difficulty and the game is... disappointing to say the least. >going loud is highly encouraged and rewarded >skill and some weapons you can't get otherwise >ai is only ever a threat if it blindsides you with a shotgun >noise mechanics super inconsistent >a soda can will sometimes raise more hell than ak on full auto >nothing like flinging one empty mag and it ricochets 4.7kms >no reason to gather or use 99.9% of the weapons in game >not that there are that many available >story goes from 80s action flick to some convoluted crap you stopped caring 5 missions ago >weird ai inconsistency >sometimes they barely react at being shot at >sometimes they do a 180 and headshot you from across the screen >day missions with civvies offered only once or twice >dev jacks off on realism while core mechanics include regenerating health and stealth archer sneak damage boost

Message too long. Click here to view full text.

>>1274588 yeah the game got a lot of problems, I'm only at the killhouse mission of the first campaign and the whole point of the mission is that I lure them into a trap yet it's like any other mission because I have no time to look around the place before the enemies show up nor can you prepare anything. A part of me like the weapon extraction system but it's annoying that you don't keep the mods that were on the gun and you can't bring back anything extra. Also missed opportunity that you can't burn down the money in the coomer mansion even if you bring molotovs.

So it seems that the launch of this game was piss poor due to the bad performance issues and normalfags waking up to the DRM/Microtransactions shit. Still there's a good game to be found, and I hope everyone is enjoying the game as much as I am. Just recently capcom released a new patch where they added a New Game function in addition to a FPS Lock for console fags. In addition to being able to get your own house earlier in the game, and changing Art of Metamorphosis to 99 instead of 2 in the Pawn Guild, thus eliminating the need for microtransactions altogether. Sadly it seems the performance issues won't be release until later this year since it seems capcom needs some more time to cook the game and have it working with DLSS3 and other techniques to make the game actually run at a bearable framerate. Still with all of the complaints they got, hopefully they can have some options to fix the performance issues by using the GPU a bit more in towns. Still, have you been enjoying the game /v/?

As much as I like to shit on the game for feeling like another unfinished piece of shit sold at full price. The game plays really well and I got addicted to sword and shield. It's a shame that after a certain point everything is trivial and there's nothing to do. Sidenote: they should just let me fuck my cat pawn already. She keeps asking for it.
